What can be better for any kid then a train ride? How about a “Train Ride with Clifford the Big Red Dog” on the LM&M Railroad? Yeah, that is SIGNIFICANTLY better!!!
If you are in the Warren County, Ohio area- or are planning to be (and you should be! They don’t call it “Ohio’s Largest Playground for nothing!) there is one stop that any train lover, large or small will need to make sure is on your itinerary- the LM&M Railroad!

While we were there, the event going on was a train ride with Clifford, the Big Red Dog. I could not have been more thrilled- because you all know how much my Little love dogs! I mean really- trains AND dogs? Done! The LM&M Railroad was awesome for kids- the train even had a little snack station in the back where you can pick up drinks and snacks if you forgot to bring any along. One word of warning- BRING BUG SPRAY, the playground was crazy buggy- and there are no bathrooms on the train itself- the ride isn’t long, but if you are potty training, just beware, and perhaps use a pull-up vs. underpants, or bring a change of clothes, just in case. There is a potty at the station, so you can go before you board.
The train ride was slow and easy, no jolting or anything crazy- so it was good for kids of all ages. Then you get out at the playground, where you get to meet Clifford and Emily Elizabeth! After hugs and photos, you can play on the playground, hear stories, color pictures, and even more! Your little ones will have a day to remember AND some fun in the great outdoors while getting to do several of kid’s favorite activities at the same time- ride a train, color, hear stories, and play with a favorite character. Really- you will for sure be the coolest mom. Can I tell you how happy my Little was? Do I need to? Look at his face! You can see more of our photos HERE 🙂
Your child will have a great time on the playground- I underestimated the call of the equipment- but he spent quite a lot of time on it! He loved the Clifford stories right after hugging the Big Red ‘fella as well. After this fun pit stop, hop back on the train for a ride back to the station. But that is not even close to all there is to do in Warren County- I’m not sure there IS an end to the fun and and adventure there is for families to find. Want more ideas?
