I was sent a copy of “101 Ways To Meditate” by Linda A. Lavid to review.

As many of you know, this mommy finds it very necessary to take time for “the calm”. Yoga, meditation, tai chi, deep breathing, etc. I find it makes my mind function better, it increases flexibility of the mind and the body, and in general makes me a better me. (A better “me” also makes a better wife, sister, daughter, friend, and most importantly, a better mommy! Remember to take time for “you”, mama’s! I’m going to keep saying this- to you and to me!)

As as
sasI really enjoyed this. I find meditation important to finding balance and calm in my life. Linda Lavid truly did give you step by step, vivid explanations and visual imagery to assist you in your meditative journey. This small book is well written and easy to follow. Author is knowledgeable on the subject, resourceful, and helpful. My one qualm- the price tag! There were only 74 pages of writing- and while those were very well written pages, the rest of it was inspirational quotes and page …more I really enjoyed this book. I find meditation important to finding balance and calm in my life. Linda Lavid truly did give you step by step, vivid explanations and visual imagery to assist you in your meditative journey. If you are experienced, then you can expand upon your knowledge and practices, because there truly are 101 ways to meditate outlined in this book!
This small book is well written and easy to follow. It’s conversational tone is not at all difficult to read or to follow, so if you are thinking of trying meditation- this is the book for you! The author is knowledgeable on the subject, resourceful, and helpful.
The second half of the book is a journal, meant for you to record your thoughts and progress. The top of each page begins with an inspirational quote to help motivate you.
Giving you 101 different ways and styles in which to meditate makes it easy to find one that suites you. Her easy explanation of techniques used makes this a great resource to both the new and the veteran reader.
If you have never meditated, but want to try (or have been meaning to “get back into the swing!), give “101 Ways to Meditate” a try. I think you will be pleased! Happy Monday!
