Banana Guard is the most interesting set of items I have reviewed in a while! As soon as I happened to see the Banana Guard, I had to contact the company to see if they wanted a review. I was thrilled when they said yes! I am not exactly sure why, but I was super, super excited by this. I felt like I was about 5 years old (maybe younger) with the Banana Guard. It is just super fun, LOL. I was giddy when it got to my house, actually giddy. Ok, let me tell you about the product, haha. It is made so that the banana goes inside it, making sure it does not get bruised.
With over a million sold, the patented Banana Guard has allowed people of all ages to enjoy the world’s most favorite fruit at work, school or play without the worry that it will become smashed and inedible! Remarkably this device fits over 90% of commercially available bananas. How? Highly curved bananas can be straightened slightly to fit into upper curve and very straight bananas can be bent ever so slightly to fit into the mold.
And while I do understand all this, and I agree that it does, I like it more for the “fun factor”. It really is just fun! Again, I can’t really put my finger on it, but it just is! It doesn’t fit all bananas, but does fit most of them. I like all their other guards, too- they have a S’wich Guard , a Froot Guard, and a Froot Case as well. All functional!
Aren’t you fed up having to eat bruised apples or peaches that have been punctured by stuff in your napsack? The Froot Guard is specially designed to fit the average size larger round fruit such as apples, pears and peaches however its use is certainly not limited to holding just these fruit. Many customers place their grapes and cherries in these as well.
The Froot Guard is made of the same sturdy, FDA approved plastic used in the Banana Guard and also features a carabiner hook so that it can easily be attached to the outside of your backpack. A sturdy locking mechanism prevents premature opening and there are several ventilation holes so your fruit doesn’t end up fermenting!
The tops and bottoms of the Froot Guard are interchangeable with the other colors available so you can make your favorite color combination.
Specs: 9 cm (3.5 inches) in diameter by 10 cm (4 inches) in height.
Can you put your stuff in other containers? Yes, you can. But, I do have to say these are fun to use, and make lunch special. When Little brought them to the Pre-K, the kids were all over them. (Can I tell you, so were the teachers? Haha, I mean it, there is just something fun about them- it’s just silly! Everyone really enjoyed them.)
Really, I am sitting here, doing this review, and laughing the whole time. They are soooo fun, and imagine giving one to someone. “Well, buddy, I just thought you should guard your banana better. You don’t want it getting all smooshed!” HA!
If you know someone who likes a unique gift, or you like to give them (or know someone who “has it all”) then I know just what should be on your list- Banana Guard and it’s family of fun products! Happy Shopping!

I’m so glad you told us about this.I just saw it today and wondered about it. I’m glad to see the also have a guard for other fruit. I wrap fruit for lunches in paper towels for a little more of a cushion, so these will be great.
Haha! That is so cute and funny. Did you ever see the commercial where the woman is at work and reaches into her purse, and pulls out a brown, smashed banana? It’s so true. This would definitely alleviate that problem! What a fun stocking stuffer!
I found your blog via This for That, and I am really enjoying it!
That’s awesome! I need to get one of these. My little one LOVES “nanas”, and I am constantly smushing them…or finding old, rotten bananas at the bottom of bags because I forget about them. It would be nice to have this!
I almost wet myself, that was too funny, always love hearing from you Grace!
I’m think’n this banana guard could also substitute as a weapon if your mugged. Hence making it a dual purpose ‘banana guard’ Guard against muggers…get it.
Okay, it’s late and I really need to get off the computer because this was SAD comment.
