What a great, great show this was! Honestly, I didn’t think I would say it, but it is definitely as good as Toy Story 3 on Ice! It was really magical- and I know that is incredibly corny to say, but it was! LOL. I felt like a little kid. Feld Entertainment, the producers of Princess Wishes, did a fabulous job putting this show together. They used most of the Disney Princesses for the show, and added Tinkerbell, Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy for good measure!
The stories were a bit “cut up”, but they kind of have to be to fit for time. (Can you imagine trying to put 6 Princess Movies on ice? We would have been there all night!) They were very simplified versions of the kid’s favorite parts of the movies.
But by “very simplified” I only mean the plot was made more simple and short- I do NOT mean that she show was simple, at all! The show was spectacular! I am almost ready to go back again, LOL. It was amazing, and will not disappoint. Little Man was amazed! While your little Princess will certainly be enchanted- make no mistake, so will your little Prince! Who doesn’t love a dancing sea crew, or a sea captain (Prince Eric) who swings in from the rafters on a rope? That’s swashbuckling fun for anyone! Can I tell you- the sea crew men were doing flips- FLIPS!- all over the place! They had a platform, and they would climb onto it, and jump down onto a teeter-totter type board, flipping the man on the other end straight into the air! Once, they did this and caught him in a chair high above them all. It was nuts. Everyone (even the adults) were gasping and oohing and ahhing.
Tinkerbell, who appeared between acts and at the beginning of the show, was (energetic? enthusiastic?) completely spastic, LOL, as any good Tinkerbell should be. I must have been in quite “a mood”, because I found the whole thing really, really funny. It was cracking me up. There were so many little girls dressed up as Tinkerbell last night- I think Tink may have outnumbered the dress-up Princesses!
One more super cool, really fun thing from the pre-intermission show. For Part One of Ariel’s portion of the show, four “mermaids” brought a boat onto the ice, with little girls in it from the audience! What a great experience for those little girls, a real dream come true! Getting to be on the ice with their favorite Disney characters? What could be better! They even got to hang out with Micky, Minnie, and Goofy! And they were part of the big dance number, as well, with the entire cast dancing all around them in thier boat! It was fabulous, and I wanted to be 5 years old and in that boat, LOL. I was also jealous that I couldn’t get my Little Man into it- he would have wet himself to see Mickey up that close, hahaha.

The second act was amazing. I didn’t think it would be able to get a whole lot better, but it did! First of all- the cool costumes that they had for Ursula’s eels? AWESOME! Super cool, super well thought out, loved them. Ok, moving on from Ariel! For Sleeping Beauty, the Prince Phillip going to get Princess Aurora scene? KILLER! My favorite in the show. (I’m not a Sleeping Beauty fan in real life- I don’t care for the helpless princess who need a man to save them stories, LOL- I’m more of a Beauty and The Beast or Mulan kind of girl. Even thought the faries needed to save Phillip first…but I digress!) This was done so, so well- it was killer! Phillip first must fight his way though the thorn forest- the thorns literally came flying at him, it was a really cool visual. The “thorns” were other skaters, and they first came at him in a pack, then scattered and came flying in from all angles- and there is no way I can describe this to you that will do it any justice at all, is there? I tried! πŸ™‚

Did I mention the dragon? Oh myah, let me do that, LOL. Meleficent, the evil witch? So, you know when she gets all huffy and turns in to a dragon? Soooo…yeah, they did that, it was super cool! THEY HAD A FIRE BREATHING DRAGON ON THE ICE! And it looked like the one in the movie, and it was HUGE, it screamed, puffed smoke, and the whole nine. AWE-some, again, I felt about 5 years old. (By the way, one of the fairy Godmothers “raised the roof” at that point, which again cracked me up- woot, woot!) The finale? Spectacular, as all good finales should be. However, in addition to super cool music and choreography, the whole cast doing their thing, and the Cinderella carriage lifting Tinkerbell high into the air on a “magic” seat- there were fireworks πŸ™‚ Inside! There was a little fireworks show, what a cool ending to a cool show. Isn’t that how they end the day at Disney World? Go to see Disney on Ice- Princess Wishes, you’ll get to have some of that “Disney Magic” with you, without getting on the airplane! I know I’d go again, and I’d recommend it to anyone! (And I am, I am!)
Amazing show, super fun, and worth going out in a blizzard for. πŸ™‚ Because I did, LOL.
