Here is a useful product for chilly nights or family camp-outs- the Cleanflame Firelog. These are the “greenest” fire logs you can find!! Now you may be wondering- how is a fire log green? Fire makes smoke, smoke has CO2 and CO and those are pretty bad pollutants. These logs are made of recycled water-tight waxed-box containers that are usually used to ship produce to grocery stores. As you can imagine, these boxes are difficult to recycle. But CleanFlame found a use for them. After processing, these waxed boxes are transformed into the cleanest burning, hottest, longest lasting firelog on the market. The logs are both recycled and a clean burning fuel.
“Our ultra-clean burning products generate 86% less creosote, 80% less carbon monoxide, and 30% less particulate matter than natural wood. In fact, our products are so clean-burning that an increasing number of municipalities permit them on no-burn days.”
Great idea!! CleanFlame has already teamed up with a few grocery chains, including SafeWay. These are a definate must for any camping trip. Let me tell you the difficult time the husband had getting a fire started the first time we went camping. These would make it that much easier!
Also- there is a coupon on their site to save $3.00 on any one case of six five-pound CleanFlame firelogs.
