THE ALUMINUM SHOW, a unique and energetic experience for the entire family, will astound audiences at the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) from Friday, May 20 through Sunday, May 22.  THE ALUMINUM SHOW is the final installment in the 2010/2011 TACO/The White Family Foundation Contemporary Classics Series.  Performances times are Friday, May 20 at 8pm; Saturday, May 21 at 2pm & 8pm; and Sunday, May 22 at 1pm & 6:30pm.
THE ALUMINUM SHOW is a “stimulating tour-de-force” that combines movement, dance, visual theatre, and plenty of humor. Since its 2003 debut at the Israel Festival in Jerusalem, THE ALUMINUM SHOW has gained international attention and recognition.  The BBC News called THE ALUMINUM SHOW “visually stunning” and Fox News TV said, “A fascinating, family-friendly, fun, and interesting show . . . incredibly interactive from the front of the theatre all the way to the back.”
THE ALUMINUM SHOW launched its third U.S. tour this past January in Lubbock, Texas. Williams Kearns from Lubbock Online wrote,
THE ALUMINUM SHOW [is] one of the most entertaining, fun, let-yourself¬-go-and-join-in and, of course, imaginative experiences one will ever have at the theater. Children were laughing almost immediately.  It may have taken a few more minutes for adults who did not expect to see the stage covered with writhing aluminum tubes, but it wasn’t long before THE ALUMINUM SHOW amazed one and all with fanciful and unexpected visuals. The combination of visuals, music, choreography and puppetry is alone worth the ticket price. Unpredictable and yet connected, THE ALUMINUM SHOW clicks for the entire family.
In the show, talented performers breathe life into aluminum-toned industrial materials to tell the story of a young machine determined to reunite with its parents.  During its travels through a futuristic world ruled by bizarre technology, it finds adventure, excitement, and even a human friend, who does whatever it takes to get it back home in one piece.
THE ALUMINUM SHOW uses recovered materials from industrial factories to build the set, dress the cast, and interact with the audience.  As industrial materials are given new and surprising contexts, then combined with visual effects, lighting manipulations and enchanting music, all senses are on high alert.  With sights and sounds that overcome any language barrier, THE ALUMINUM SHOW is visual entertainment at its best.
