I am loving my new BRX Travel Adventure Gear. It was a bit rough to find, but worth the work! I had searched for it online, and it came up that there was a local-ish store that had this fab luggage collection, and I was CRAZY excited- as a travel queen, I am always looking for stuff that can really hold up. Sadly, when I got there? Nothing to be had. They also said they don’t carry the brand at all, so that was a bummer. REI Stores are also now carriers of BRX luggage, so I called ever store within a 90 minute driving range- not one of them had it. Blah! So, I went to old reliable- the internet! Briggs and Riley TravelWare had the whole set, so even though I couldn’t see them in person, it was cool to see the whole collection.
For me, as a writer and a blogger (not to mention resident Mama-razzi and up-loader of a zillion photos everywhere I go!) a great computer bag was my number one. Mine was in dire straights, and I am thrilled to say that the new Excursion Messenger is FABULOUS! I love, love, love it! Besides being great for travel, I take it with me to work nearly every day, and it was the surviving computer of my flood. So YAY for that! It was easy to grab and move.
The other thing I thought would be really, really useful is a great backpack- because really- what momma can’t use a killer backpack? With a zillion pockets and padded straps- this Excursion Backpack is great for travel, and for everyday use as well.
As most of you know, I was actually away on travel when I found out about Hurricane Irene, and that she would be on her way to my area. I left abruptly, and hightailed it home, making it back just hours before it hit. When the storm hit, I was frantically moving things and trying to salvage what I could. Because we were unable to use our own showers, kitchen, washing machine, etc- we were running about to other people’s houses quite a bit. We were very much abusing the bags, since I was dragging everything about in it.
Here is the hubs- with the mandatory hurricane Doritos- on our way to my nearby cousin’s house, who had a working bathroom and shower. Since we had to be able to walk wherever we went (we have evacuated the kids via National Guard boat to my mom’s house for a few days, the conditions were just not sanitary at all) the backpack was a lifesaver!
I’ll give you all a proper travel post with my fab new travel gear in October, when I will be on the road again! (Since my Labor Day trip was clearly cancelled, LOL.) If any of you are thinking of getting some new luggage for upcoming travels- even family visits for the upcoming holidays- I can HIGHLY recommend these! They are killer, easy to clean (and in this current environment, that is so crucial!) and comfortable. I am loving them! And the online shopping is easy, so head on over!
We’ll talk more about them later.
Happy Trails in the meantime! 🙂
I so love this and have to have one.
Great bag and I love the color!
what a nice set! And clearly you have proven that they can take a beating! hope you enjoy your trip in Oct when things settle down!
I love that doritos made it to the top of the things to rescue list. 😉
We are actually in need of some luggage. I don’t think we even own a carry on size suitcase.
What a blessing that you were able to keep your computer safely tucked in your new bag. Hubs is looking fab with the backpack! I bet it really did come in handy during this mess. It really does look like nice luggage. If it can withstand post Irene messes I am sure it will do great on your next traveling adventure.
This looks great! I’m a bag queen so I’m headed to check them out!
What? The Doritos don’t go in the bag? hahaha
October is such a fun time to travel…Autumn is so beautiful! Your luggage review was excellent!
This is fantastic. My daughter just started college and desperately needs a computer bag for her laptop. I am going to look for these. Thanks for sharing!
