First Time Homeowner

Being a first time homeowner is really exhilarating but also really scary at the same time. I’m always afraid that something’s going to break or I’m going to find some new furniture piece that I have to buy. I put a lot of money into the house before I moved in which really helped but it did leave me with a lot of bills to have to pay off once I moved in. I got a ADT Security home system and put a lot of new technology in the place like surround sound in all the rooms. This is no starter home – I’m really decking this place out because I plan on being here for at least 7-10 years and I don’t want to live in a place that feels unfinished! I’m really happy with the bones of the house and what I’ve been able to do to it so far and although I’ve made a lot of progress I’ve got a lot of stuff still left to do. It’s a lot to take on at once!
Goodness Gracious…you don’t have to complete your home in the first month of living in it. I know, I know…you’re all excited about being a NEW homeowner, but don’t break your bank or your back for that matter and go all gung-ho by ‘be-dazzling’ every square inch of your fabulous dwellings. It will all come together beautifully, I’m sure, in due time…no rush, k? Like you said…you plan to stay in the house for 7 to 10 years. You have plenty of time. It’s easier said than done, I know…I was a first time home owner 10 years ago and I was a total nut-job when it came to decorating and putting my personal touch in every room. I put the brakes on fast though because I had to leave money in the bank just in case something did happen, you know? Eeekk! New home or not…you never know? UGH!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
