What’s better then waking up to the smell of the ocean? Not a whole lot.
Sigh.

Little Man on the beach |
We started out our day with a fun Surry Bike ride from Fun Bike Rentals, right here at the Hilton Clearwater Beach Hotel. (Did I tell you this place had everything, or what?) The kids rode up from while daddy and I pedaled. We took the surry up the wide sidewalks, and down the beach a little bit. The kids had a really good time, and it was a fun way to get around and see the area.
Then we were off to Captain Bligh’s Landing Miniature Golf– a cute 18 hole mini-golf adventure that is fun for the whole family. Little Man especially enjoyed the pirate ship- and chasing the ball around. OK, so he didn’t really “get” mini-golf so much, but he had a great time playing, LOL. Bonus? There is a game-room attached to the campus. You can also buy soda, water, and ice cream- and guess what? They won’t even gouge you on the prices. A soda is only a dollar. Gotta love it when places actually keep in mind that families will be attending- and we all have budgets!
How cute is this, by the way? Clearwater is all about dolphins, and Captain Bligh didn’t forget that when decorating- check out the Captain’s very own dolphin! (OK, so it’s not a real dolphin- but it’s cute and it goes with the theme of the town, and my kids loved seeing it.) Captain Bligh’s is well worth an afternoon visit.
We went shopping a little bit for some friends and family back home, and I love how friendly and chatty the people in most of the shops are. When we got hungry, we found a fun-looking restaurant called Island Cafe. Island Cafe was full of pennants and postcards from all over the country- they are only 67 postcards away from one-thousand! So if you have a fun postcard lying around, send it to Island Cafe, 432 Poinsettia Ave, Clearwater Beach, Florida, 33767 π
We then went to Little Toot Dolphin Adventure and to dinner at the Palm Pavilion- but more on those later π
By the way? We walked to everything I just told you about. Did I tell you the Hilton Clearwater Beach Hotel is super convenient and centrally located? Now you see what I mean.
After we got back, we hung out by the pool for a while, and went back up to the room for showers and bedtime. Tomorrow we are going to visit Winter the Dolphin, so we want to be ready!
Happy trails!
By the way- if you are not planning your trip yet- why not? LOL- come on down, the water’s great!!!
I lived in Sarasota for 3 years, and barely knew about half of this stuff.Clearwater is such a beautiful town and I always loved my visits
