Sesame Street has been around since 1969. But never have children been able to really ‘be’ their favorite characters from the show. That is until now, and the new game Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster.
In this game the player takes the role of various characters through the course of the game. As such you dance, pose, wave, jump, and sing/talk.

The game is broken up into six chapters, each of which can be replayed if you want to. Each chapter has more characters to play with/as.
This game is just as you would hope it would be, a whimsical journey into the imagination of Jim Henson. The only change is the colors are somehow brighter an more vibrant if that is at all possible.

The character animations are spot on, the backgrounds are alive and vibrant. The audio is good quality too, characters sound the way they should, music is compelling and fun while not taking away from the game itself.
The co-op is drop in and out. So lets say your little one is playing and gets stuck on one part, mom/dad/older sibling can step in help out and let them keep progressing. There are a few characteristics which can be irritating- the most important thing to know is, when playing put on a lot of lights. If you are in low lights, the Kinect will not pick up all your movements. In full light, it works like a dream. Makes sure your Kinect is properly calibrated it will save you a lot of headaches. Once started, your little ones will not want to stop playing because of some improper movement readings.

For the gamers out there, this game is made by Double Fine. Yes that Double Fine, the makers of Costume Quest, Psychonauts and Brutal Legends. Knowing this alone should peak your interest. This title lives up to the hype and is a blast to play. It is great for children of all ages from 4 to 104. This is one of those titles which define the Kinect as a key console accessory.

Happy gaming, and may the force be with you!
