About the Author
My name is Shereen and I live in Portland, Oregon with my husband and my toy fox terrier “child”. We love to travel, but don’t have unlimited funds to go anywhere we want at any given time. Growing up, we were always on a budget and finding ways to travel affordably was always a challenge. Soon, it became fun to figure out how to get everything for less. I use it in my everyday purchases and extend my joy of research for finding the best deal to all aspects of my travel-planning. I have learned, through experience, where to cut costs, but how to still stay in comfortable hotels, eat delicious food, do everything I want and have a great time on my trips. I have been giving money-saving advice and website suggestions to my friends and family for years. They are always pretty impressed by my tips and great deals I can find, and once they started asking for their own family and friends, I knew there were a lot more of us budget travelers out there than I realized. We don’t want to stay in hostels or crash on a friend’s couch, but still want to travel the world when we take an annual vacation.
