Do you have dreadful memories of someone taking your temperature? OK, lets not get the therapy couch out, I mean literally getting your temperature taken. ๐Ÿ˜›
Why not save your children the same “fond memories” with a temporal thermometer. These thermometers are easy to use and don’t require any pain (or wrestling) in the slightest. These particular scanners, the Exergen Temporal Scanner, don’t even need to be touched to the skin.

The way these thermometers work is by measuring the temperature, using the temporal artery instead of rectally or through the ear canal or under the tongue. The advantage to this is it is more accurate, easier to administer and also less uncomfortable for the person being measured. Did I mention easier? Yes, it’s easier.

This particular thermometer is also used by doctors across the country and is incredibly well built.
We all took turns taking temperatures with one and it was very easy. When used in a fever scenario, it also worked well, giving us an accurate fast readout.

This would be awesome in the Pre-K classroom, where we are contently taking temperatures- but I’m keeping this one at home. Sorry charlie! The director will have to buy her own for the school, LOL.
I HIGHLY recommend this for every home, and I did tell the director to buy one.

  1. These sound like a good thing to have in the first aid kit.

  2. We love this. It’s perfect for children

  3. We have one of these and we love it. So much easier to use than the old ones. We used it on our cat too when she wasnt feeling well.

  4. Thermometers sure have come a long way since I had my first child. I bought one of these for my sister in-law and her little boy for Christmas and for my brother in-law to use with the twins. I figure somebody needed to have a little benefit from the latest and greatest even if it wasn’t me.

  5. I have memories of taking temperatures with my children. How hard is it to ask someone to keep a thermometer in their mouth when they can’t breath through their nose with a cold? I was never sure of the accuracy because of that.
    Sounds like a great product.

  6. I used to teach preschool and this would have been a lifesaver!

  7. You aren’t kidding! I remember the old models! Hmm – wonder if they would work on pets?

  9. I just learned about these in school a couple of days ago. These are so much better, because they are not invasive which makes them safer, and they are more accurate.
