Ready for some new CD’s?
First up is Farmer Jason and Buddies Nature James. Farmer Jason is a stage name which Jason Ringenburg has picked up to release some of his more child friendly albums. Mr Ringenburg is most well known for his alt-country and modern Americana music in the band, Jason and the Scorchers. This new character is all about farming. nature and getting outside and enjoying yourself.
In his previous albums Farmer Jason had quite a bit of country music But his most recent release, Nature Jams, has a more diverse menu to choose from. There are rockabillie tracks, country, even a Celtic and a blues track. You would be hard pressed to not find at least one song on here you enjoy listening to. We try to get the kids at culturally aware as possible, and that includes all kind of music.
This cd can introduce littles ones or parents to new genres and new artists to look into. Speaking of new artists the ‘Buddies’ Farmer Jason brought with him for the album are something to listen to, they include: Mike Mills from R.E.M., The Saw Doctors, Steve Gorman from the Black Crowes, Tom Petterson from Cheap Trick and even Hank Williams III and Tommy Ramone. For that fact alone this album is worth a listen.

High Dive by Bill HarleyHigh Dive is a collection of story/songs by Bill Harley. Bill Harley is best known for his blend of stories and songs, which have intelligence, fun and a bit of ridiculous thrown in to keep it interesting. His most recent release is no different. High Dive collects a few tales, that may or may not be from Mr. Harley’s past including It Could Have Happened, High Dive and Field Trip. Each track draws a picture in you mind, no matter what your age is, of growing up in this strange world we live in. My favorite is Monster Valentine, it is about a Valentines Day that takes a wrong turn. Its just not more of the same when trying to summarize a Bill Harley story. You must hear it, ‘from the horse’s mouth’ in order to truly appreciate it.
Tracks include:
1. It Could Have Happened
2. High Dive
3. Interlude
4. Field Trip
5. Interlude
6. Monster Valentine
Yes the actual tracks are few but keep in mind High Dive, and Monster Valentine are both over 11 minutes long, so you definitely get a full album.
Happy listening!
those sound adorable
Love this! Celtic music from Farmer Jason ๐ In all seriousness, I think exposing children to music of all genres, starting at young age is tremendously important!
