Tomorrow is the beginning of Daylight Saving Time (except in Arizona and Hawaii). Don’t forget to set your clocks forward one hour before you go to bed tonight.

To keep your family safe, Fire and Public Safety officials across the country recommend that you get in the habit of replacing the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors each change in Daylight Saving Time. With warmer weather just around the corner, these two simple maintenance projects will help keep your home in top shape:

  • Schedule an annual checkup of your air conditioning system and replace all filters. A new air conditioner can last 12 – 15 years with proper maintenance.
  • Have ducts and vents professionally cleaned. Duct cleaning companies use specialized equipment which allows for thorough cleaning.
