Lets talk about something that has gotten a bit of publicity recently. Small businesses. These businesses are the backbone of our economy. Every Walmart started out as a small corner place that got popular and did well. There are many small businesses in your area. Many of which deserve your attention. The best local pizza place or lawyers are probably within walking distance. The other great part of small businesses is the feeling of a family. Stepping into a restaurant where everyone knows you is a great feeling. Upon meeting some of your local businesses, let’s say you get the bright idea, “I can do this”. To see the happiness of not dealing with a boss has got to be nice.

What to do do start? Maybe get in touch with a tax advisor and a lawyer, and advisor to figure out how you are going to get your bright idea up and running, and making money (while the lawyer, of course, will help you keep things legal). Also, a good idea is to talk to some of those local small business owners. Having a mentor could definitely save you some headache. A willing listener makes a big difference in times of anxiety. Be sure your advisors are trustworthy. You want the best in your corner when accounting issues arise- and you are going to invest all this money you will be making soon, right? Self employment may sound scary, but with a cool head, a good idea, and a brain you can succeed. Be prepared for some let downs, keep your head up but your feet on the ground. It’s going to be a bumpy ride but you can do it! (And if not, I’m sure you can find a new boss. ๐Ÿ™‚ Good luck and happy trailblazing- Follow your dreams, bloggy buddies, just make sure that you are doing it sanely.
