Travel Accident insurance can be a lifesaver when the time comes to use it but if you
are lucky enough to not need it, is paying for it anyway worthwhile , either to your wallet
or your peace of mind?
Travel accident insurance protects against a litany of possible problems that occur
while you and your family are away from home. Protection will often cover you for a
variety of locations, whether you are across the county or trying to cross the street. As a
pedestrian you are protected from possible injury and don’t have to rely on the insurance
of those that hurt you. Or if you hurt yourself at no one’s fault, for instance, this insurance
will insure you have the money and resources to pay for treatment. Medical bills can
add up quickly and the kinds of insurance you already have, including auto, home, and
health insurance, may not cover you as completely as you need. For example, if you
are traveling in a car of a private passenger who does not have liability insurance it may
be you who pockets the expenses if an accident occures. This scenario also includes
taxicabs, buses, trains, powerboats, ocean cruises, or as a passenger on a fare-paying
airplane.
It is impossible to predict accidents and even sometimes hard to prevent them,
especially if you are not at fault. Having travel accident insurance ensures you are
always protected no matter where you are. Lots of plans are extremely affordable and
worth the cost in the long run.
Does this mean that insurance for travel accidents is necessary for you? It depends.
Do you travel frequently outside of work or work for yourself and don’t have coverage
for work-related injuries? Do you live in a big city where you depend on the competency
of strangers to stay in their lanes, watch where they are going, or that all pedestrian
signals are up and running properly? If yes, then this may be a viable option for you to
consider.
However, if you have full coverage for your job (including work-place related
injuries as well as health insurance) and you only drive to and from work in your insured
car (both liability and damages covered) then you may be adequately covered. It is
important to consider your daily life, the life of your family, and any of your potential
future trips or plans. You can even purchase short-term insurance for preplanned
vacations and trips.
For people who travel frequently and don’t have insurance offered through their job,
travel accident insurance companies, like Worldwide Insure, are excellent resources. International
travelers, or anyone who prefers the internet, can connect easily search out companies
like these on the internet. They usually offer a variety options and plans can go from
silver to platinum or even be tailored to suit your lifestyle and your budget. Unlike car
insurance, accident insurance is not required. That does not mean, however, it is not an
important thing to consider.

As Samantha has pointed out, travel insurance is definitely worth the few extra dollars you spend on it. It obviously won’t feel good if you lose your baggage which you might have packed for weeks. Imagine the stress you’ll have while you’re out to enjoy your vacation. If you have a travel insurance, at least you’ll be assured that you’ll be compensated for the loss.
We have just arrived home and we do get the insurance. Our lives are so hectic that we need it in case something happens and we have to cancel the trip.
we never get the insurance
Anything that gives extra peace of mind is always worth a few extra bucks!
I usually avoid purchasing extra insurance whenever I can get away with it but you bring up important points to consider! I may have to re-think.
Wow! That is something that you never think of. Travel insurance.
