Vipre Antivirus software was developed by GFI software. GFI Software specializes in small and middle size business IT solutions. Thus making them a perfect company to site with against the evil malware and virus’s of the internet. Gfi first got into the released Vipre in 2010 and since has been improving and keeping systems across the globe safe and secure. GFI are Microsoft Gold Partners as well as the Winning on Windows Award and Microsoft Fusion Award. And these aren’ t the only wards which Vipre has earned. It has also been on the VB100 best award, about.com Readers ‘ Choice Award and is AV-Test Certified.

All the awards in the world mean jack in the real world unless the software actually works. I can say this software does work. The greatest part of Vipre is its strength and its light weight. Vipre has a very small foot print and only uses minimal hardware. This is very nice compared to some of the other antivirus and anitmalware programs out there. Personally we have a bit of an older laptop and it is prone to pick up viruses from time ot time. The reason for this is because we can only have lightweight security software, and most times this ‘security software’ doesnt quite cut teh mustard. But Vipre does a wonderful job at this. Vipre covers anti-rootkit tools, real-time monitoring, remote device scanning and email scanning. All of which give this small piece of software a very powerful backbone. The install was easy and quick. Here is a screen shot of our install.

Sorry- no sharing my history ladies and gents.

Anyway, I would suggest at least giving Vipre a 30 day trial, it is free and is never a bad idea to run a new antivirus software on our system. You never know what is going to be found. Check out http://www.facebook.com/GFIVIPREAntivirus Vipre’s Facebook page for more info. Be safe.

Winning on Windows Award as well as the Microsoft Fusion award.
