It’s my favorite time of year- fall! Well, I love fall and spring the same amount, actually. The changing of the seasons, and the fact that we get to leave extreme weather behind us is always a good thing in my mind. I love the colors that come about in the fall- we are in the Northeast, and you know what that means- the leaves change colors in some of the most amazing hues imaginable. It’s easy toFind beauty in the Fall.

Now, while I love my roses, and it’s true that they and most of my other spring and summer garden can’t make it in this weather, not all is lost ๐Ÿ™‚ Fall gardening and gardens are some of the prettiest, with their deep colors and rich tones. We love mums here- always have- and we just bought a whole mess of them. My son has quite the green thumb, not something he got from me! Thank goodness for the Miracle-Gro Facebook page, where I get tons of ideas that are easy for me and fun for him. (Of course, I don’t let him handle the actual product.)

We are planning on spending part of the weekend planting them, and beautifying our lawn and garden. We also still have some of our edible garden growing- the pumpkins are not yet mature, and the lettuce, turnips, and carrots are not ready yet, either. We tried to grow corn- but only one lonely stalk took root, LOL.

We are also excited about fall decorating- there is so much you can do with fall plants to decorate your home. From centerpieces to your lawn, I love the variety you can work with. One of my favorite things to do is the traditional bale of hay with mums and dried corn husks. Pintrest is a great place to find some fun variations on this classic decoration. I like this one– it’s basic- but it’s what I like!
