You’re not much of a drinker or party-goer, but for some reason, you are ending up in Las Vegas on vacation. Although it may seem like you are a fish out of water, you would be surprised at the number of people, who just like you, accompany others to sin city, but don’t spend their time gambling or drinking and still have a fabulous time.

The Vegas Lights

A must-see for any Vegas visitor is the strip at night. The bright lights, billboards and outdoor shows are excellent. Head over to the Bellagio and take in the spectacular fountain show that is set to go off every 15 minutes. Be sure to take good, strong walking shoes if you plan on walking the strip – it is long and there are lots of things to see. Hop on a bus that makes a giant loop around the strip and really enjoy the night shows and lights.

Walk around and enjoy the street vendors, shows and people. You’ll meet lots of interesting folks that have fun talents.

Visit the Different Hotels During the Day

Go up the Eiffel tower and see the Vegas strip from above. You’ll have fun listening to the staff speak French. The interior of the Lux hotel is spectacular, walk around the pharaohs and enjoy the peace of the falling waterfalls. While there you can enjoy the King Tut museum. Head over to the Venetian to see the sheer beauty of old Venetia and enjoy seeing the gondolas go up and down the water ways.

Walk over to the Excalibur to see the jousters on horses and enjoy the fun game room in the dungeon. Go to the forum shops to see the living statues and enjoy a piece of cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory. Even if you aren’t a drinker or gambler, you may enjoy dancing, and Las Vegas boasts some great clubs at Caesars are great for dancing all night long.

Eating Out

If you’re staying at one of the hotels on the south side of the strip like the Tropicana Las Vegas, all you have to do is head out the door and you’ll find restaurants galore, or you could hop on a bus to head over to the other hotels to enjoy their buffet. You can even choose to sample the wares from the local street vendors.

Shows

While drinking, partying and gambling may not be your thing, everyone enjoys a show or two while in Vegas, and there are plenty to enjoy in all price ranges. Go to a fabulous Cirque du Soleil event or a wonderful theatrical show. This is the town to see spectacular shows at fairly reasonable prices. Remember, you can always find discounts in the hotel reception area or online through websites like Travelzoo or Groupon.

Bottom Line

Contrary to what many think Las Vegas is no longer just for gamblers and partiers. There are lots of things to do here. Enjoy the day by the pool, head out to the strip, enjoy walking through the hotels and watching the free shows, sample the sumptuous food and in the evening go to a show. You’ll find plenty to do here without having to participate in the booze or the gambling your friends want to participate in.
