Whether you’re actually a fan of the “lovable losers” (the Cubs) or not, visiting Chicago between late March and the end of September should include Chicago Cubs tickets. Wrigley Field is one of the few original ballparks left and one of the most historic. Baseball fans of all teams should catch a game while staying in Chicago.

Of course, there’s quite a bit to do in the city of Chicago, but there’s nothing like the experience of a Chicago Cubs game. Many sports fans have compared this to a trip to Lambeau Field in Green Bay or to Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend. These are two of the other most historic sporting venues and Wrigley Field ranks up there with the best of them.

Going to a baseball game is an American tradition and who can turn down a great game, hot dogs, soda, beer, peanuts and even cracker jacks. Nearly everybody that grew up in the United States knows the words to the famous song that comes out during the seventh inning stretch of every baseball game, but there’s more than just your typical baseball game when you visit Wrigley Field.

This may be one of the smallest stadiums, but it’s also one of the oldest. It’s full of history, including the ivy wall an architecture you just don’t see anymore. Many say the stadium feels like a neighborhood playground because of the low surrounding walls. The ballpark is known as a home run park, which makes the game even more exciting. It’s also part of the reason for the rooftop bleachers featured on surrounding buildings.

They offer a full tour of the stadium for $20 and many fans say it’s well worth the cost. Locals will tell you the best way to get to the ballpark is via public transportation because parking and traffic is always a mess. Visiting the bars and restaurants in the surrounding area, called Wrigleyville, is also a treat. These old style bars and restaurants are also filled with history and many locals ready to tell stories of their experiences with the Cubs.
