We here are Have Sippy Will Travel have had our fair share of carrying luggage from point A to point B. Mostly in a rush, always with at least one bag on each arm and a suitcase in each hand. When going from car to terminal, or house to car, car to hotel- all start to take their toll both on your back and your nerves.

NY State 013Each of these treks have one thing in common, a wish for lighter baggage. And ending in the same conversation, “Do we really need to bring all this stuff?” With kids the answer is always a resounding, “Yes”. Between the toys and the spare clothes, the wipes and the snacks, there are even some clothes for mommy and daddy in there- all of which are needed. So what can you do to skim off a few pounds and help your back and sanity? How about a lighter bag, for starters. Check out the new Delsey Helium Fusion 3. This suitcase line sports the lightest baggage I have ever carried while still being strong enough to carrying all your stuff. Some of the bags features include:

•Lightweight and fully featured.
• Modern aerial look with custom brand plate, zipper pulls, kickplate, skidbars, and lining.
• Built-in Over-Weight Indicator (Patent Pending) allows you to determine if your bag is over 50 lbs. Available on 25” & 29” Upright Trolleys.
• Main material is constructed of durable EverLast Polyester with EVA foam backing.
• Expandable.
• Fully lined with suiter clip on main lid, tie down straps and pockets for easy storage and security.
• Recessed locking Trolley handle with TPR grip (“One hand operation”).

The most interesting characteristic is the over-wight indicator which lets you know when your bag weighs over 50 lbs. This comes in very handy, especially while traveling and bringing home tons of souvenirs for everyone back home. A useful trick that when going away is pack a bag in a bag, then fill the inner bag with your clothing, so you have the outer bag to pack full of fun stuff for everyone on your list. The small weight of this bag makes it perfect for this little trick.

NY State 015The luggage itself is sturdy and can take a beating. The zippers work well, and don’t show any signs of breaking under stress. The biggest flaw is, the bag falls over, every time it seems to want to go face down and take a nap. So be aware of that before standing it up near a puddle or a busy street- it’s annoying. Overall a good bag, but could have been a great bag, if it would only stand up straight. 🙂 It also expands when you unzip the outer zipper to give you a few more inches of space when you need “just a little more room”- hey- unfolded laundry is not as easy to fit as that nicely packed up stuff when you leave the house!

Comments

  1. Big and lightweight? I so need both!

  2. I like that it is big but lightweight too! When I go to pack, I tend to over pack and need as much weight for my stuff as I can get.
