We here at Have Sippy love different toys and play things. Be them plush, interesting, or just a bit odd- all are welcome on our site. (Hey, who knows until you try it, right?) Today we present the Ezy Roller. This device is meant for just about anyone who has the ability to shimmy from side to side, suggested age 3 on through to adult. The minimum suggested height being 3’3″. The Ezy Roller is not a scooter, a bike, or a luge, but a different form of transportation completely. The Roller moves based on the principle of cambering motion, which is moving left to right in an action/reaction manner to move forward or backward, similar to a snake’s motion. I would suggest watching a video of how it works to best explain it in a visual manner.
The Ezy Roller was a mixed bag for Little Man. Upon first trying it he loved it, because it was new and shiny with an different look to it. Then he didn’t like it too much because it wouldn’t move forward easily, in a way expected. But after actually trying to move it left to right with his feet in the way described, he loved it. He was able to move quickly and easily, zipping back and forth. Now he loves it and is thoroughly amused by it and the way it moves. I would compare learning how to ride the Ezy Roller efficiently to riding a bike, but way easier for little ones, no balance is needed- so they only have to figure out how to make it go.
My chief concern with the Ezy Roller is that it is low to the ground, so cars will NOT see your kids on it, especially little ones, so extreme caution is necessary when playing near anyplace cars might be- even sidewalks. My suggestion for any play time with the Ezy Roller is a skate park, or enclosed play ground area, even a tennis court could be fun. Definitely NOT the street though- please use caution.
Other then caution near streets, the Ezy Roller is really interesting and a lot of fun. It definitely grabs the attention of other kids playing, and even adult onlookers. One such adult said, “I wish they had cool “stuff” like that when we were growing up. I’d have stayed on that all day long.” Yeah- I bleeped that for you. I’m good like that. 🙂
A few fun facts about EzyRoller:
- Not a luge, not a bike, not a scooter, the EzyRoller moves like a snake, without chains or pedals, using easy right-left leg movements. There are no chains and no batteries – the EzyRoller moves and turns silently.
- The principle behind the EzyRoller is so powerful that most kids can go alone with their EzyRollers within seconds and as young as 3 years old.
- EzyRoller has won loads of toy awards, including the coveted Astra Best Toys for Kids Award.
Ezy Rollers are available for $99 and are available online st their store as well as your local toy store.
I’ve seen a few people in my town ride those, and I’ve always wondered what they were! They look so cool.
as a kid myschool had something similar to this – it basically was like a scooter with pedals. It was my favorite activity in gym so i’d get so excited to see them lined up when we walked into the gym on those days.
This is very cool! Can’t believe I’ve never heard of it before.
OMG this looks like so much fun! I bet my little guy would have a blast on a toy like this.
