The main character is a pig named Peppa, who likes to get into all sorts of things. The show follows the daily routines of Peppa, her brother George, as well as Mommy Pig and Daddy Pig. The episodes tend to feature everyday, relater activities like attending playgroup and being with friends, going to the playground, swimming, visiting with grandparents, playing in mud puddles and doing all sorts of fun stuff.
Peppa and family deal with everyday life issues with a smile and laugh. Peppa’s lighthearted approach to storytelling makes it easy to watch for both children and parents. I think that the simple and silly animation will especially appeal to preschoolers, even more so because the episodes are activities geared toward the preschool age range (issues and “problems” Peppa faces). The snorting alone will make your little one laugh, and there is plenty of teasing- just like at home.
Peppa Pig is a suitable and fun show for preschoolers with social lessons about kindness, loyalty, values of family, friendship, and fun, that run within each episode- without it being too obvious and sunshiny that your child won’t like it.
Find Peppa Pig on your local Nick Jr television station, and online for games and activities. You can also pick up Peppa Pig DVD’s and other merchandise at Toys R US .
