getting pregnant For some women, and even some men, trying to have a baby can be difficult. There is typically a 15% to 25% chance of conceiving during each ovulation cycle, but your chances can decrease with age and other factors, like having chronically irregular menstrual cycles. It can take couples months and years to conceive, and sometimes the stress alone can make pregnancy that much harder to attain. When our biological clocks are ticking on overdrive, the easiest thing to do is panic, but fortunately there are a number of ways to stay calm and carefree. Most doctors recommend that women take certain measures to keep themselves stress free in order to increase their chances for a fertile future. Here are some ways you can beat the frustration when you are trying to conceive.

  1. Remember that trying to conceive is a process. While for some people it might seem like a magical gift that happens without trying, it important to remember that we all have our own unique challenges. Opening ourselves up to this mode of thought can help alleviate our feelings of inadequacy and can vastly decrease our levels of stress and anxiety. Many psychologists recommend facing our challenges instead of burying our hands in our head. Facing our problems head on will make us stronger and more independent individuals.
  2. Sometimes when couples are trying to conceive, they can lose track of the way things used to be. In some cases, bringing back the flair to a relationship can take a couple’s mind off of the stress of trying to conceive. It is recommended that you go on dates, on vacation or do anything to bring the seduction and excitement back into the relationship. Who knows, you might find yourself able to conceive without even trying.
  3. If a woman is trying to conceive it is crucial that she keep certain negative influences out of her life. These can be habits, food or even people. One of the best ways to stay calm and relaxed is to have a positive outlook on life. Meditate if you have to. Light some candles and close yours. When you are not at work, don’t think about work. Sometimes the frustration of not being able to conceive can make you frustrated in other areas of your life too.
  4. Some psychologists even recommend putting positive notes around your house to help you out of a negative and frustrated mindset. These notes can be quotes from friends, famous writers, or even your favorite television show character. And make sure to leave the notes where you will most see them.
  5. Therapists also say that keeping a journal can be a great way for women and even couples to write down their grievances. You can keep a notebook of your daily thoughts and musings while you are trying to conceive. This is a great way to transfer your frustrations, so that you or your partner doesn’t have to carry such a heavy weight. Perhaps if that weight is gone, you will have a better chance of conceiving.
