If you’re after a sizzling summer break this year, there are more than a few scintillating holiday destinations to tickle your fancy.
Let’s start with the exotic. You’ve got the ice-white sands of the Maldives, the dreamy shores of Goa and the paradise style getaway of Thailand. Then of course there’s the Caribbean. Whether you’re after a luxury Caribbean cruise, cheap holidays in the Dominican Republic or an action-packed adventure in Cuba, there’s a little slice of Caribbean paradise with your name on it.
If you fancy something a little closer to home, there are plenty of fabulous places with gorgeous year-round climates that make the perfect sizzling escape in both summer and winter. Try the Canary Islands – a collection of volcanic gems located just off the west coast of Africa. Here you’ll find scorching summer temperatures, fascinating volcanic landscapes and knock-out beaches.
North Africa is home to Morocco, Tunisia and the spectacular destination of Egypt, which really needs no introduction. From its powder-soft sands and world-famous scuba diving sites, to the spell-binding ancient monuments that represent some of the most important finds in archaeology, this place really is something special.
For something closer to home still, holidays in Spain are the obvious choice. On the mainland, you’ve got glorious sun-drenched escapes like the Costa Blanca, Costa Dorada and Costa de la Luz, or there’s the chic city escape of Valencia. If you fancy an island getaway, the lovely Balearic Islands of Majorca, Ibiza or Menorca make a fabulous summer retreat. And on the subject of Mediterranean islands, Malta is a superb hideaway for anyone who loves a hearty dose of sun, sea and sand.
Whatever you fancy, whether it’s a summer getaway close to home or as far away as possible, there’s a sizzling summer escape with your name on it.
I love that image, and I wouldn’t mind spending a few days in such a setting.
But these days, travel is so complicated that by the time you return from a true vacation, you almost need a second one to recover from the first.
Maybe being a homebody isn’t so terrible! ๐
a true vacation doesn’t require running around like crazy people- unless that is what you want. that is just the “gotta do it all” mentality, and then you return exhausted and often frustrated. and people keep doing it and then wonder why vacations leave them dry. take it slow and use vacation for recharging as well as excitement ๐
And I thought we had nice beaches…
