Where are you able to visit more coastline then California yet still catch fresh water fish? The answer? Missouri. PS Lake of the Ozarks has more coastline then the entire state of California.
Missouri is full of fun and interesting vacation ideas and locations including Wineries, a float trip, Branson and 51 state parks.
Lets say you only have 4 days to spend in Missouri with your family. Other then sleeping in stellar hotels the whole time what else is there to do you may ask? Well on day one i would say check out the Bonne Terre Mine. This is the largest fresh water scuba dive resort. Best part of a scuba dive resort? Night dives. It is an absolutely adventurous and oddly claustrophobic experience to be enveloped in dark water, yet completely free to move about at the same time. Next day- check out Independence, Missouri, where the Wild West began and of course you can find the Adventure Oasis Waterpark. On day three, its time to check out St Louis. Make it a museum day and check out the new East building expansion at the St Louis Art Museum which opens June 29, 2013. And on your final day of a whirl wind adventure on Missouri, check out Branson. Branson is one of the hottest family vacation spots and is the live music show capital of the world. There are more then 50 live performance theaters, a dozen golf courses and a world renowned theme park with new rides available more often then not.

I grew up in St.Louis and visit Lake of the Ozarks often, and have been to Branson, great review!!
Living in NW Arkansas and on a budget, we go to Missouri quite often. From Country Club Plaza Mall and Kansas City, to Branson and the beautiful countryside between Bella Vista, AR and Springfield, MO, Missouri has a lot to do. You enlightened me with this post on the scuba diving resort. Also, the Mammoth Cave with its ride-through tram is so cool and comforting in the summer.
