Ubooly is a nifty new toy. This toy is part digital pet/ digital lab /plush/educational buddy. The plush is a wonderful protector for your iPhone or iPod Touch at the most base physical level. Both Apply products fit snugly in the zippered compartment keeping that expensive little piece of tech safe. It zips closed and stays that way, no matter hot much fun your little ones have. And fun they will have.
The plush also acts as an all important accessory to further enhance the Ubooly app experience. The app can be used both with or without the plush, but it definitely adds to the experience when the two are use in conjunction with one another. Ubooly is an educational toy. It teaches lessons, interacts and seems to grow and learn with your child not only giving instruction or speaking to them. A key component of Ubooly is it is a vocal interactive toy. The touch screen is used but for the most part Ubooly is interacted with vocally. So the more your little one interacts with Ubooly the more fun which can develop. There are games, songs, stories, and jokes. All of which will constantly update and evolve with some help form the Ubooly Lab.
Ubooly is also customizable through the Ubooly Lab. You can add items like glasses, faces and other nifty digital accessories. But the coolest prat is how customizable the Ubooly experience is. You can select what your little ones like: dinosaurs, ponies, etc. Then you can also add lesson plans like Spanish, reminders like proper oral hygiene and tons of fun stuff topics. Ubooly is a fun little educational toy which teaches children while the little ones are having fun, so expect the pitter patter of feet and the phrase, “Guess what Ubooly told me…” to be uttered quite a bit.
One of the most interesting animations I think is when done playing Ubooly yawns and falls asleep, eyes and mouth going wide then squinting into sleep also putting your tech to sleep as well. This isn’t the most advanced or the most amazing thing Ubooly does but it completes the illusion of a pet or a buddy. These little characteristics really make it shine. Check out this video of two Uboolies (maybe Ubooli?) interacting, its called A Job Interview:
Ubooly did have a rough start, but with its most recent updates Ubooly was able to ‘learn’ and ‘develop’ into the fun little critter it is today. Ubooly retails for $29.99 and is available at Toys R us as well as man other fine establishments. As of now the Ubooly app is only available for iOS but an Android version is in the works, so keep your eyes peeled.
I’ve seen these toys in the store but never really stopped to take a look closer. Very interesting little thing!
We love Ubooly. My son has one and he has a blast with it. It’s so sweet to watch him interact with it.
