Honeywell have been makers of fine electronics for years. Especially various air purifiers and cleaners. The new Air Genius 5 is one of their more recent additions to their product line up.
The Air Genius has a ton of nifty features but the two which caught my eye right away were cleanable filter and its quiet. In our house there some of us who suffer from allergies. In the Spring/Fall/ Summer we go through about a box of tissues a week.
These allergies are not only segregated to the outdoors. Indoor air quality also effects allergy sufferers as well. Pet hair, dust, pollen and mold spores can all be present in your home thus setting off an allergic reaction.
The Air Genius cleans the air with three stages of cleaning. Stage 1 is a pre-filter. Stage 2 is a permanent washable ifD Filter followed by an electronic ionizer. Stage 1 also gives the user options, you can either put in a odor reducing pre filter, which is disposable and lasts approximately 3 months or a washable pre filter. Both pre-filters work quite well and we usually keep the washable pre-filter in unless there is a funk which needs to be removed from a room. Then we break out the odor reducer.
In order for the Air Genius to do its job best it is suggested it is put in an are which is far away from big objects and also in a newly vacuumed area. Then you let it it run for 24 hours and the air is cleaned. The air having a crisp, lighter feel to it.
The Air Genius is also quiet, its about as loud as a new hard drive. Motor boat this is not. It is easy to fall asleep with it in the room with you.
The button on the Air Genius are touch sensitive, much like a touch screen which gives the unit a sleek futuristic look and feel. The interface itself is easy to use with only 4 buttons and a wonderful display.
This unit is perfect for post- get together clean ups. Lets say you just had a big birthday party in the summer and the house smells like it. Sweat, cake, candles, and the random “ew” factor. As clean up begins, plug in the Air Genius. Once the bulk of the clean up is done, you will notice a nice crisp scent to the air, quickly, and quietly, too.
This looks and sounds like my family could benefit from using. I also have allergies and it would be great for me. I love the colors.
Hummm…wonder if the mini version would be good for the man-child’s room. I’ve tried others but they “don’t go with stuff” and usually end up in the forgotten and never used again zone.
Oh I love the mini colored ones. I will have to check these out as I’ve been looking for a air purifier to help with my allergies.
Well, we are actually looking for one. We had a air purifier and at the moment it is not working, so we are in need of a new one. Thanks for mentioning the Honeywell Air Genius, this will come in handy in our home.
Very nice – would be a great gift for someone with allergies.
This sounds fabulous! I really like that it’s quiet.
