Man of Steel is a re-imagining of Superman with a more alien feel to it. A little darker and a little more mysterious while still epic and huge. No matter the medium Superman is always fun. Flying, strength, the perpetual good guy and handsome to boot.
With the release of the new movie there is a plethora of new toys to go along with it. Including the new Quickshots line. These toys have a central concept of a fling toy. You make a V with your fingers or use the flinger figure. Pull back on the stretchy figure’s body and when released he soars through your living room. Quickshots are interesting and include single flinger packs and Battle playsets like the Battle for Metropolis set.
The Battle set includes a flinger figure, as well as a rotating target system which when used correctly makes for some competitive play time.
Some parts rotate and are guarded by robots while others send the General Zod flying when the proper button is hit. This set is good for outdoor play, where windows, tv’s and cups of water are not easily knocked into or broken. This set would definately keep kids busy during your next BBQ.
There are other lines of figures available as well including the 3.75 in Superman line which include accessories like a rip apart motorcycle and crumpled car door and armor. This line is perfect for little hands and imaginative minds.
The other cool line is the Movie Masters set. These figures feature more articulation, bigger sizes and more detail. These are great for collectors as well as little ones. But there is a minimum of articulation, but with a figure like this General Zod, who needs them?
Those fling toys give new meaning to action figure! It sounds like a great outdoor toy.
