I have always been a huge fan of baking soda for a few things around the house. I’ve always used it to help with odors in the refrigerator. I’ve used it on my hair even. But, did you know that there are many different uses for baking soda? I would love to share many of the awesome uses of Arm & Hammer Pure Baking Soda.
For The Home:
In The Kitchen
- Cleaning food surfaces (Put baking soda on to cloth or sponge, wipe clean, rinse and then dry) –Really good for counters, sinks, cutting boards, microwaves, lunch boxes, wooden spoons, oven tops, range hoods and more.
- Keeping Drains and Garbage Disposals Fresh (Pour some down the drain while running warm tap water.)
- Cleaning Microwaves Messes (Put on a warm sponge and rinse well with water)
- Cleaning Fruit and Vegetables (Sprinkle on a damp sponge, scrub, and rinse OR add to bowl of water and let sit to clean off, depends on the fruit type)
- Cleaning out your coffee machine(Add 1/4 C. to one quart of Warm water)
- Refrigerator Freshness
- Soak on the messes in Dishes, Pots, & Pans(Add 2 TB. to dishwater to help with the mess)
- Cleaning Up Baby Bottles (Put a tsp. in a full bottle of warm water, Shake, & Rinse)
In The Living Room
- Upholstery (Sprinkle on the upholstery, wait 15 minutes and then vacuum)
- Carpets (Sprinkle on the carpet, sit 15 minutes, then vacuum)
- Pet Toys (Put 4 TB in 1Qt. warm water and wash, or sprinkle on toys, and then brush off each toy after 15 minutes)
In the Dining Room
- Carpet Spills (after area has been cleaned and dried, sprinkle liberally and let sit for 15 minutes before vacuuming it up)
- Scuff Marks on Floors (Remove dirt and Grime using 1/2 C. in a bucket of warm water, Mop, and rinse clean).
- Silver Flatware ( 3 parts Baking Soda & 1 part water, rub onto silver with a clean cloth, and rinse thoroughly)
In The Bathroom
- Bathroom Floors (1/2 C. in a bucket of warm water, mop, and rinse clean for a sparkling floor)
- Wastebaskets (Add a sprinkle regularly to keep odors at bay, you can also was the container with 1 C. Baking soda/ gallon of water)
- Shower Curtains (Sprinkle directly on a clean sponge or brush, Scrub, and rinse clean)
In The Laundry Room
- Laundry Booster (Add 1 C. to laundry to make liquid detergent work harder )
- Musty Towels (Add 1/2 C. to the rinse cycle)
- Baby Stains (add 1/2 C. to you liquid detergent, or 1/2 C. to Rinse cycle)
In the Bedroom
- Sheets and Linens (Add 1/2 C. to the rinse cycle)
- Sports Bags (Add to gym bags to deodorize the odors)
- Smelly Shoes (Shake a little in shoes in between wears, and tap out excess before wearing again)
- Furniture (Add to a damp sponge, and rub lightly on any surface)
In The Nursery
- Stuffed Animals (Just sprinkle on dry toys and let sit for 15 minutes, and then thoroughly brush off the residue–won’t hurt baby at all, even if some is left on the item)
- Baby Equipment (Just sprinkle directly on a clean damp sponge and rub the item clean. Rinse thoroughly and dry)
- Diaper Pails (Sprinkle liberally over dirty disposable diapers in the diaper pail)
- Baby Toys (4 TB dissolved in one quart of warm water, then wash toys with damp sponge and dry)
In the Garage and on the Patio
- Oil and Grease Stains (Sprinkle on the spot and scrub with a wet brush)
- Lawn Furniture (Sprinkle under cushions and inside the storage bag)
- De-Grime the Grill (Sprinkle on a damp brush, scrub as needed and rinse clean, for tough stains scrub with a wire brush and a baking soda paste, then rinse thoroughly)
- Camping Necessity (Can be used as a dishwasher, pot scrubber, hand cleanser, deodorant, toothpaste, and many more ways)
- Grime from Pool Toys (1/4 C. and 1 qt. of warm water, scrub, and rinse clean)
Beauty & Personal Skin Care Routines
- Facial Scrub and Body Exfoliant (Make a paste with 3 parts baking soda and one part water. Rub in gentle circular motions to exfoliate skin and remove dead cells. Rinse Clean with warm water.)
- Pre-Shave and After-Shave (If you have sensitive skin, 1 TB in a cup of water will help for instant razor burn relieve.
- Manicure ( Dip brush into baking soda, and scrub nails and cuticles. Make paste, rub in a gentle manner, and rinse clean)
- Exfoliating Pedicure (2TB in a basin of warm water. Then use a baking soda scrub (3 parts b.s. and 1 part water) then use a rich moisturizer. Then let sit for 5-10 minutes)
- Hair Care Help (Sprinkle a small amount into your palm along with your shampoo. )
- Brushes and Combs (Soak combs and brushes in a solution of 1tsp. baking soda in a small basin of water, then rinse and dry)
- Natural Deodorant (Dust some under the arms as needed)
- Toothpaste and Mouthwash (Brush teeth with baking soda. Sprinkle it in your palm, dip a damp toothbrush into it, and brush. Mouthwash–use 1 tsp. in 1/2 glass of water, swish through your teeth and rinse)
Jeepers, if you knew of all of those wonderful uses I am completely impressed. I was so happy to be able to receive some Arm & Hammer Pure Baking Soda. I have found many new uses for me to use it.I am so happy to have a nice, safe natural way to do many of the things that I do throughout my day/week/life.
I would love to encourage you to head on out to your local store and purchase yourself some Arm & Hammer Pure Baking Soda, and try using it for your many uses.
