If you happen to be someone who is hosting one of those showers, perhaps you’ve been looking for some baby shower decorating ideas that you can do. If so, we have five fun DIY ones below that will not cost a lot of money or take a lot of time. That way, you can get them done in a couple of hours and focus on anything else that the mother-to-be might need:

Create a diaper cake. One of the most classic kinds of baby shower decorations is a diaper cake. If you’ve never seen one before, it’s pretty much exactly like it sounds. You’ll basically need around 100 diapers (cloth or disposable), some rubber bands, diaper pins, colored-tissue, round pieces of cardboard and some colorful ribbon. If you’d like some step-by-step instructions on how to make one, go to Baby Savers and put “DIY diaper cake tutorials” in the search field. They have a variety of cake ideas to choose from.

Give some cupcakes made out of “onesies”. Something else that’s really cute is to make a box of cupcakes. Only rather than using an oven, you can use some onesies instead. These are actually really easy to make with the help of some onesies, baby socks, Scotch tape (and some cupcake boxes, of course). Club Chica Circle is one website that has some clear directions. Just go there and put “cupcake onesies” in the search field.

Serve up some popcorn. If you’re planning on having a dessert table or one that has a lot of different kinds of snacks on them, something that adds a really “sweet” touch is to go to a store like Hobby Lobby to get some popcorn boxes that say “I’m About to Pop!” on them. You can then pour some blue and pink M&Ms into the box and mix them up with some popcorn. It’s a super special and really tasty treat.

Display some blown-up baby pictures. One thing about a baby is that you never know what part of the family tree they are going to look like. That’s why it’s always fun to look through baby pictures of you and your significant other to get some ideas. If you want to share them with your guest, you can do so by blowing some of them up and putting them on display. Then you can go to a website like KidzNStyle to get some favors to go around the pictures.

Use blue or pink nail polish as favors. Are you looking for a party favor that your guests will love and won’t take up a lot of your time to make? Something that you can easily do is purchase some blue or pink nail polish. Based on the sex of the child, you can simply put a handwritten tag on it that says “It’s a Boy!” or “It’s a Girl!” If the parents want it to be a surprise, then pick a neutral shade like green or yellow. It’s a great shower idea because it’s something that people can use—as everyone is waiting on the baby’s arrival.
