Noodles are one of my favorite foods. Not to mention a good way to easily get carbs to stomach by way of a slurp or a twirl. One of my favorite types of restaurants are those that specialize in the the power of the noodle, be it Udon, a local Mac and Cheese spot, or Italian- any and all can be delicious in their own way.
There is a recently discovered restaurant called Noodles and Company that specializes in most types of noodles, Thai, Japanese, Italian, Chinese, even egg noodles and mac and cheese. All your bases are covered. Your meal starts with picking a noodle dish then picking a meat or meat substitute if you wish, options include grilled chicken, breaded chicken, steak, pork or tofu. If you’ d like spaghetti and tofu, the option is there. Of the noodle dishes we tried, the favorites among the table were the mac and cheese, Indonesian Peanut Saute, and Beef Stroganoff.
Each dish came out piping hot and fresh. The noodles firm, and the sauce perfectly seasoned. The only issue we had with the meals was that there was not enough sauce. I love lots of sauce on my noodles, no matter what form they are in.
The Indonesian Peanut Saute was the spiciest item on the menu, and as such did have some heat to it, but not enough for the heat lovers to turn away. Enough to kick your tongue around a bit while still letting other flavors in the sauce have a presence, but not too hot. The Mac and Cheese was creamy and cheesy, delicately balancing cheese with noodle with a sprinkling of cheddar on top. The Stroganoff was amazing- it’s one of my favorite foods, so having one this good (and for this price) was a terrific surprise for me. The egg noodles were al dente, and the steak perfectly cooked, all in a delicate cream sauce to bring the whole thing together. Each dish made us want to try more and give another one a go. I especially liked how there were Asian inspired dishes as well as Italian and American dishes. There are even sandwiches, salads, and soups if noodles aren’t necessarily your favorite.
Be sure to check out a Noodle and Company location near you.
I have seen commercials for this company and they have one about 60 miles from us. It all always looks so good and so do the pics from your postt!
There’s a Noodles & Company a couple blocks away from where I went to college (In Naperville, IL). One of my friends and I would go to lunch there about once a week to chill and maybe go over an assignment. I absolutely love this restaurant! So good, affordable, and was within walking distance! They also had a machine where you could pick different flavors of sodas. My favorite dish is penne rosa; I get it almost every time. Just the right amount of spicy.
Yum, I love noodles. I will have to see if there is one in my area. Thanks for the info.
I went to one for the first time recently and was pleasantly surprised by the variety on the menu. Tasty too!
I have never heard of Noodles and Company but it looks fantastic. I try to pick a place I know the whole family would like, this would be one of them. Hope one opens up near me!
We have Noodles and Company here, and I love love love noodle dishes. My daughter is a noodle fiend, so we try to limit our intake, but when we get some we try to get them where they taste uber good. We go all out!
I’ve seen these around and so so so want to give them a try. They don’t have them in our area, but they have them where my son and his wife live, and we do go visit. 🙂
this would be my husbands worst night mare- he’s NOT into noodles. me though?
i’d just reserve my own table. daily.
