Buying a property abroad has long been popular with people from the United Kingdom. Foreign lands often offer fairer weather, new foods and exciting cultures. Moving abroad can also be beneficial for your finances.
Finding a specialist
In foreign lands foreign rule prevails; as such, one thing that may be legal in England may be frowned upon abroad, and vice versa. This can get confusing and you could even find yourself on the wrong end of the law if you don’t know exactly what you’re doing. For this reason it is a good idea to try to get some expert help with your move abroad. While you may want to pay for your advice a cheaper option might be to have a look on the internet where you might find companies such as Portugal Property offer free, informative and useful advice on making a move abroad.
Living costs
London buses, black cabs and bad teeth; these are just a few of the things for which the UK is famous. Another, is of course the high cost of living. Despite the strength of the native economy, the British Isles is one of the priciest places in which to live. In the UK, the costs of food, clothes and rent are all on the expensive side for world averages.
Holidaying at Home
Holidays abroad can be extremely expensive but if you want to guarantee yourself a few weeks of nice weather it is a necessary evil. For people in Britain, the alternative is to remain in the British Isles and blindly hope that you get lucky with the weather. If you’re already abroad though, then getting to a holiday hotspot can be much cheaper.
Travel
As the world’s fuel supplies dwindle and trade lines become ever more exclusive, the price of fuel is increasing all over the world; however, in some places, the price is rising faster than others. Unsurprisingly, the UK is one of the most expensive places in which to buy fuel, ranking 8th in the world in 2014. While seven other countries, including Italy, Netherlands and Norway may be more expensive for fuel prices, that still leaves more than 180 countries with cheaper gasoline prices to take advantage of.
Investing in developing markets
The housing market in the UK may fluctuate from time to time; however, it is fairly well established. While you may be able to make money from property development you have to have a lot of capital behind you to invest in the first place. By moving abroad, you have the opportunity to be in the heart of a developing housing market. With your regional knowledge, you’ll be able to buy more property with less money and less risk. To ensure success, you’ll need to keep a keen eye on the world’s emerging property markets. At the moment, some of the best places in which to conduct a property development business are Albania, Thailand and Italy.
This is great info! I have never really thought of buy property out of the country. I have would only do it if I had a very good reliable management company to care for my property and to help me with all the different rules and laws.
