Splish Splash Waterpark is a great place to spend the day as a family in the heat of the summer. When you are trying to have fun on a warm day, options can be limited. Waterparks should be high on the “to do” list, and this is a good one to check out.
There are lots of options for kids of all ages, with smaller splash or wade pools for smaller kids (scaled down pools and slides, little swings, spray parks, etc) in several varieties so that everyone can have fun and enjoy themselves. The bigger the kid, the more places they can play- but of they are too big, they can’t play in the small kid areas, so that the little ones don’t have to worry about being trampled.
There are a ton of great slides and rides at Splish Splash, and everyone had a favorite.
Mutiny Bay is new this year, and something everyone enjoyed. This all new interactive water attraction will take you and your fearless crew on a captivating voyage! The new ride is designed for the whole family to enjoy together. Seated in brightly colored boats, riders use water-spray “cannons” to blast other boats as well as spectators roaming the perimeter. The excitement is enhanced by shoreline guests returning splash-blasts with water cannons fixed along the perimeter of the attraction. The continuous moving boats travel through numerous interactions while cruising along the 300 foot long lagoon that holds 185,000 gallons of water.
The Battle of Mutiny Bay – New for 2014 – This interactive water attraction will take you and your fearless crew on a captivating voyage. Battle against roving bands of pirates and pesky sea creatures.
Abyss Tube Slides were a favorite with all the kids, twisting and and turning your way down the enclosed slides. So was Bootleggers run, which holds up to four at a time in a tandem raft. “Climb aboard a four-man raft that actually goes uphill with new generation hydromagnetic technology. It flies like a roller coaster without rails. So much fun, it just may be illegal!” It really did seem as much like a roller coaster as it did like a tube ride, it was very cool.
There are also 4 kiddie areas, like Monsoon Lagoon (my son’s favorite) and Pirates Cove, which smaller kids and young ones will love.
The kids also loved the wave pool, which really kept the waves rolling in for a few minutes at a time. They had a blast, and the time on and off the waves was just right according to them.
They also have a few food stands, one of which now offers organic foods. You will need to wait about 15 minutes for these fares from the time you order, so be prepared for that. You can choose from organic hamburgers, chicken nuggets, and salads. They also have organic apple juice and milks. Of course, there is the normal, non organic variety of food as well if you prefer.
The park has separate bathrooms and changing areas, and the changing area is huge- you won’t have to change on a slimy, dirty floor or wait forever for a room, which is nice after a long, wet day with the kiddos.
Hop on over to SplishSplash.com and get your tickets soon, summer will be over before you know it.
I would love to take my grandbabies to a place like that
