In the process of getting started for the party the most important part was finding some little guests who would appreciate the movie and toys. So we asked a few of our closest peanutty girl buddies to come by and share the fun.

Ken was invited by a partygoer- he is not part of the “Secret Door”

The fun started with snacks and a movie, and ended with snacks and dolls. All the kids liked the movie (especially the music) and of course the magic. The story follows Princess Alexa who would rather have a her nose in a book then do her princess-like responsibilities. This hit close to home because all kids don’t like responsibilities, especially with things like books, TV, and toys around. Alexa then find a secret door which whisks her off to a land of magic, fairies and mermaids. In the magical land there is an evil ruler who Alexa needs to defeat with friends, courage, and magic. Over the course of the story she learns how friends and courage can overcome seemingly impassable obstacles.

It’s great there is a moral to the story and think the kids got quite a bit out of this as well. I would suggest this movie for any fans of Barbie and even some who aren’t fans yet. Little Man sat through the movie as well, but didn’t particularly love the movie.  He did enjoy the music and the animals and magic in the film. (So even a ‘rough and tough’ boy will find something to like.) Barbie and the Secret Door is available now everywhere fine DVD’s are sold both in stores and online.
