Traveling to Europe can be a strain on the wallet if you aren’t careful. With so many new things to try and do, trying to squeeze them all in can be as stressful as work. When you factor in paying for these wonderful meals, sights, activities, and locations, the stress really increases. Check out these tips and tricks while in Europe, and in particular London, to save some of that hard earned money and thoroughly enjoy your trip.
Tip 1. Plan. Plan Plan.
Do not travel by the seam of your pants. Make plans and stick to them. Unless you are exploring for lunch be sure to do what you planned to while on your trip. This helps by giving you a general idea of how much you will be spending in advance as well as knowing what you want to do ahead of time. If schedules aren’t your thing on vacation, at least having an idea of fun locations in the area will help out immensely as well. Find the less pricey budget hotels in London instead of spending money hand over fist once you get there.
Tip 2 Make Friends
Locals know the hot spots for little money, so make friends with locals. Foreigners can be fun to hang out with and you are a foreigner in London so be fun, have fun and learn about local spots where your Euro will last the longest.
Tip 3 Limit your meals out
Find a hotel that serves breakfast and keep lunch light and cheap. After that dinner won;t be as painful of a bill once you get there. As the trip progresses this may get more difficult but for the most part this plan will work with tip one, planning.
Tip 4 Exchange Rates
Before going shop around for a good exchange rate. Sometimes local banks and financial institutions will give you a better deal then the airport exchange rates, so shop around. You can also save money by looking for the best hotel deals in London, shop around and find the best price.
With these tips in mind and a fun attitude your trip will be memorable and most importantly relaxing. Enjoy!
