The holiday season is here, and I have entered a competition to answer the question, what would you do with 100,000 pounds?

There are many things I could do with this money.  First of all I would exchange it for American dollars (since I am in the USA).  Second of all, I would set aside half of it to savings, and the other half I would split between fun money and new car funds.  The investment would be sound and conservative, so my money wouldn’t disappear into the market on me.  I would love to get my wife  a new car that would replace the one she has now- it’s getting on in years.  I would take her current vehicle (I usually take the train to work)  and we would push my current car off a cliff and burn some sage to cleanse the area of bad car mojo.  The newer car would not be an expensive car or a flashy vehicle, since she wouldn’t like that at all. All we really need is a safe, reliable car which would get good mileage and have some trunk space too.

The fun money would be spent on fun things like a new computer, a nice new desk, or a massage chair for said desk.  We would get some music lessons for the little guy,  and the trip to Japan that I have always wanted to go on but has always been out of budget.  We would probably go to China too, since the little guy really wants to go there, and to Tibet since that is one place my wife has always wanted to go, but has never been able to afford. Being able to take all of our “dream trips” would be amazing!

It would be nice to be able to afford a few luxuries for once, and breath some fresh air in and share the fun.  Little Man would get any lessons he wanted, Chinese, piano, dance, art class, whatever floats his little boat.  Honestly the fun money would be the hardest to spend, because we would end up paying bills and sharing with some special people in our lives as well, namely my wife’s grandmother.  Paying even just a month of her mortgage would be a huge help and give her some breathing room too. Some of the funds would probably also ride on black at some form in a casino of some kind, knowing her,  just for giggles.  She has always loved her trips to Vegas 🙂
