Birthdays can be great fun for everyone involved especially the birthday boy or girl, but what to do if a birthday falls during a vacation? November is a big birthday month, and often times vacations are also scheduled in November with all the holidays. There are a few tips and tricks for special birthday fun while on vacation, to make your next vacation memorable but also your holiday or birthday as well.

    • Make the celebration fit the destination. Theme the birthday party to the locale. This can be done with a special meal or dinner or just a fun packed special day chosen by your little one. Going camping? Have a camping party. With cupcakes and neighboring tents joining in for singing. Visiting the desert? Why not have a Western Cowboy themed party along with horseback riding? In regard to planning a day, your best bet is to give your little one a few options for the day like, paintballing or a day at the beach. Sleeping in or watching the sun come up over the mountains? With a little creativity and planning a wonderful birthday is a few steps away.
  • Mail a card. Getting a greeting card in the mail is fun imagine getting one at a hotel or cabin? Even more fun! I know it doesn’t sound like much but you’ll see how important it is to them when they pack it up on top of all their other stuff for the whole rest of the trip. Just be sure to send out the greeting card well in advance, timing is everything.
  • Souvenir-birthday-present. A set limit in a souvenir shop can be a blast for birthday celebrators. Picking from a miniature horse statue or a sea shell painting can be a hard decision so a little splurge never hurt either, giving that spending limit a last minute boost will also give your little one a nice surprise.
  • Photo book of the trip while on the way home from the trip. If your trip is of the road trip kind it is easy to find a local drug store or super store with photo processing that can probably produce a nice quality photo book before your feet hit the front door of your home. A book of memories while the memories are still fresh is a great touch.

  • Special delivery. Edible Arrangements can make the great delivery item for a birthday celebration, especially considering on vacation your little ones are probably not eating as well as they should be. A fruit basket of beauty would make a great touch to a balloon ensemble or in addition to a cake or cupcakes to decorate your hotel or cabin and complete the birthday look. Edible Arrangements can deliver just about anywhere even if you’re on vacation.
