In the heart of Dutch Country, Pennsylvania, is an adventure waiting to happen. Adventure is it’s middle name. No, really. Cherry Crest Adventure Farm offers any family a fun filled (and inexpensive) way to fill any day. Well, any day May through November, anyway. The day we visited was quite a rainy one, but we didn’t let that dampen our spirits.
Cherry Crest Adventure Farm is not only a working farm, but also a wonderland for kids. It has all sorts of attractions from a science and animal learning center, where kids can learn about farming, animal husbandry, and even hold baby chicks
to “milking” a pretend cow, petting pigs, and feeding goats
to heading up a (quite steep) hill and taking a ride down these slides in potato sacks- and you will go whizzing down, let me tell you. The hill will wear your little ones out, so let them have at it. The lines generally are not too long, so you can wait at the bottom, take photos, and relax while your kiddos wear themselves out. They will sleep well after a visit to Cherry Crest, I promise 🙂
Kids will also love to bounce on the trampoline-bounce-pillows- there is one for big kids and one for little kids. Yet another way to let the kids get their energy out. With all the other kids to play with, they won’t even have to annoy their siblings! (The bounce pillows are one of my son’s favorite things to do while there, for sure.)
Kids can also take a tractor pulled wagon ride through the cornfield
play on the “website”
ride pedal karts, make their way through the famous corn maze (design changes every year!), or more. The Strasburg Railroad train passes by, which gives all kids, young and old, a thrill (and great photo ops). The old steam train is amazing to see, and also to ride on. Cherry Crest is one of the train’s stops, you can ride the train and spend the day at Cherry Crest if you want to.
The corn maze is only available later in the season, and you can do it by daylight or at night (by flashlight) which some people love doing. You can also pick pumpkins and pick “popcorn” during the fall season as well.
Plan your visit to Cherry Crest Farm today– they open in the Spring, so get ready for family fun, and a good night’s sleep afterward. Enjoy!
cool looking place and never seen a pig on that plastic stuff
That place looks like so much fun! I love all the activities that are available. It will be on my place to visit if we ever get to Pennsylvania!
I wish we had something like that closer to us! What a fun family day! Those sliding smiles say it all!
LOVE That trampoline, looks like this place is super kid friendly where you could spend the whole day!
What a blast! The kids looked like they had a great time and learned a lot about what goes on at a farm. My kids would be trying to convince me to let them take the pig home.
wow that place looks awesome i also LOVE the lack of electronics and farm feel of everything
We’ve been there several times, and we just love it. Now I’m sad that we haven’t gone this year!
This looks so fun! We have a place similar to that in Florida but there are definitely no fun slides or a corn maze. If we’re ever in that area, we’ll be sure to check it out 🙂
the spider web is so cute
that looks like a great place to take our family
