Boston Children’s Hospital HAIRraising Cut-a-Thon:

On April 12, top salons throughout the country will offer discounted haircuts and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Boston Children’s Hospital for the HAIRraising Cut-a-Thon. This is a massive, one-day fundraising event benefitting Boston Children’s Hospital, the #1 Pediatric Hospital and Research Center in the country. Over 100 salons have signed up already in hopes to raise $200,000 this year for the hospital. This is the highest number of salons that have ever participated in HAIRraising and the largest fundraising goal for HAIRraising to date.

Founded in 2010 by longtime business partners John Frieda and Gail Federici, HAIRraising brings together the salon and hair communities to help support the life-saving care and breakthrough cures, treatments and innovations that bring the sickest children from all over the world to Boston Children’s Hospital. Gail Federici has a particularly close tie to Boston Children’s Hospital because her daughter Alex was born with congenital heart disease and needed open-heart surgery at age 8. To find the best cardiac surgeon in the country, Gail and her husband turned to Boston Children’s Hospital, which helped Alex grow into the healthy young woman she is today. Alex is now 29-years-old and is pregnant with her first child, due just after HAIRraising.

Anyone can make an appointment at a participating salon for April 12 to receive haircuts for $25 or $40. http://hairraising.org/find-a-salon/
