Getting the kids to go to bed, and to STAY in bed, can be one of the hardest times of any parent’s day.  Starting, and keeping, a bedtime routine is always ideal- but what to do when that doesn’t do the trick?  Sometimes, having just the right “helper” is what the Sandman ordered.

Check out some of these fun and innovative new products for bedtime and beyond.

Have you met Brobo and his friends?  First introduced in 2012, but available in larger markets now in 2015, these fun and cuddly buddies will keep your kids company and scare away the darkness when it’s time for lights-out. There are several characters available- Brobo, Pep, Mumu, Trex, and Dog.  These adorable, futuristic robot friends are plush and soft, with glowing centers (think Iron Man’s glowing chest piece) that light up.  This is called “Shine Force”, and is activated by tapping it’s hand (or tail) to the light, which also vibrates.  $35 at www.brobo.com

P1030109All kids want a soft, snuggly blanket to cuddle up with, and this one is that much better because it comes with a light-up pillow with an animal face on it.  Melody Mates are a separate blanket and matching pillow that are washable (take the pillowcase off the pillow) and sweet.  Lullabies play once the button is pushed, and the LED lights softly glow and light up the room (but not too bright, you don’t want your little one kept up).  Several varieties are available, like cow, duck, frog, and monkey.  Batteries are not included, avaiable for $30 at www.MyMelodyMates.com

The OK To Wake! clock is my new favorite item in the house- it will let your children know, even those who can’t tell time yet, when it’s alright for them to get out of bed.  Huzzah for no more 5 am Saturday wake-ups!  This clock can be used as an alarm clock, nap timer, and a night-light. It comes with two faceplates and animations give OK to Wake! a bit of “flair”, because it’s just that jazzy. It lights up a special color at the designated time, letting your child know it’s now OK to get out of bed and annoy you for cartoon time.  No, it’s not a bright light, and will not likely wake a sleeping kiddo (because that would be evil). Battery operated, available for $33 at http://www.patchproducts.com

Comments

  1. We have the wake up clock – works great!

  2. All of those products look great. My favorite is the ok to wake clock. What a great product to let kids know when it’s o.k. to wake up, rather than bothering everyone else in the house before it’s time. Thanks for the reviews.
