Bladder leakage is a common problem.  Maye not one openly discussed with all manner of company, but it is quite common and should be discussed.  People think they are alone, they are embarrassed- and I’m like, so what about it?  It is so common that 1 in 3 women experience it, which is over 51 million American women.

The numbers are staggering and even more so is the stigma that bladder leakage has attached to it.  Many will not bring up bladder control issues thinking it is gross or improper.  Something to keep in mind is that more people in their 20’s experiences bladder leakage then those in their 80’s.  To bring about more awareness on the topic, Depend is running the #underwareness campaign to bring bladder leakage to the conversation.  As part of Underwareness, Depend is encouraging people to show their support for women with bladder leakage.  For every photo and video shared using #Underwareness, the Depend brand will donate $1, up to $3 million, through 2016 to fund charities that advance the research and education of bladder leakage.

I do leak a bit sometimes, I’ve mentioned this before- and I’m not embarrassed.  It has been happening ever since I got pregnant, and it never stopped.  Kids, man.  Mostly, it is when I laugh really hard or when I sneeze.  It is not a big deal, and not a major leaking issue, but they are a pain to deal with.  As an adult these odd situations do arise and the best way to deal with them is to be prepared.  We as women all know kids ruin your body- so deal with it the best way we can.  Some of the options to for the modern adult with leakage is Depend.  Who have been perfecting protecting adult undergarments for years.  One such innovation is the new Depend Silhouette Active Fit Brief.  These undergarments are a moderate absorbency brief with a thin design and a lower rise for a more underwear look and feel.  To complete the real underwear look these are also available in colors, like black and beige.  They can’t be seen under clothing, so if you need them, wear them, and no one is the wiser.  Get on with your life, and don’t worry about this stuff.  Look around- 1/3 of the women in the country are with you on this one.

  1. It is not just pregnancy, a girl may suffer a straddle injury on a climbing frame which leads to ‘leaks’.
