After a long day, it can be nice to sit back and unwind by watching a favorite TV show or movie.  It can be even nicer with a little something sweet while your watching.  With the weather getting warmer, your thoughts might (like mine) turn to cold desserts, naturally.  Did you know that Turkey Hill Dairy has come out with an all natural gelato?  They are the first major ice cream brand to do so- and it’s delicious.

It is available in eight flavors, like chocolate peanut butter, mint chocolate chip, and salted caramel.  It’s made with simple, easy to pronounce ingredients like milk, vanilla, and sugar- which is always a good thing.  One doesn’t usually want to eat what one can’t pronounce, lol.  Since gelato has less air then most ice cream does, it has a thicker, richer texture and a creamy taste. This is a great way for mom and dad to unwind at night- a little something special, not your average dessert.  You can find the gelato wherever Turkey Hill products are sold.

They are on sale this week in A&P stores, so if that’s not a good reason to try it, I’m not sure what is, haha. My husband tried them with a variety of toppings, he loves to put things on top of his desserts. Me, I’m a purist- I like it just how it is.  My son, who knows I got the “special” treat for myself and daddy (but got him his own dessert as well) still got his mitts on a bowl- how do you resist that face, though?

We all very much enjoyed the flavors we got- Chocolate Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chocolate Chip.  We look forward to trying the other flavors as freezer space allows!  We all liked the Chocolate Peanut Butter the best- while it was not as creamy, it was super flavorful and delicious.  Head to your local store and pick some up today!
