Skylanders SuperChargers – from the #1 kids’ console franchise worldwide – just launched on Apple devices this weekend. Fans can enjoy the full AAA game experience on iPad, and for the first time on iPhone, iPod touch and Apple TV.
With the first-ever Skylanders tablet entry last year, this announcement reinforces the brand’s role as an innovator in the mobile gaming space. In addition to the full console experience, all Skylanders SuperChargers progress can be saved via the iCloud, allowing for seamless play across all compatible devices.
The Starter Pack includes the AAA game, the Portal of Power® with embedded Bluetooth® controller, a built-in stand, two Skylanders SuperChargers characters and a Skylanders SuperChargers vehicle. Players can also purchase the digital Portal Owners Pack for select iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and Apple TV. All 300+ Skylanders characters are compatible with both versions.
Skylanders SuperChargers offers multiple ways to play on Apple devices:
- Online Multiplayer Gameplay –Real-time online multiplayer gameplay between compatible iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and Apple TV is available for the first time ever. Whether it’s online co-op play in Adventure Mode or four-player competitive racing, players are sure to have a blast.
- Skylanders SuperChargers for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Apple TV can be played in a variety of ways:
o Apple TV Siri Remote: For the Apple TV, when players purchase the Starter Pack, Player 1 can use the Skylanders Game Controller and Player 2 can join in using the Siri Remote for some great co-op action. The Apple TV Siri Remote can also be used by players who download the game and experience the first level for free, or by players who buy the full digital version of the game through the In-App Purchase.
o Touch Controls: For iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, players have the option to play the game using just on-screen touch controls.
o Racing Mode: Racing Mode is available right out of the box in the Skylanders SuperChargers Starter Pack for iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and Apple TV. There are six race tracks in the Starter Pack for fans to play – two for each terrain type: Land, Sea and Sky.
This looks like such a fun starter pack that my grandsons would enjoy! How fun!
