Nohi Organic Children’s Clothing Review & Giveaway #GiftGuide

Nohi Kids offers eco-friendly clothing for children. I was lucky enough to be able to review The Girls Peacock Dress-Pink, and the baby Romper-Pears.

About Nohi Kids:

In the Maori language, nohi nohi means, “to be small”. In Japan, Kodomo Nohi, one of the most popular national holidays, is a day to celebrate children. And, in Hawaiian, Nohi means brightly colored and vivid. So, I suppose a Nohi Kid is a bright, vivacious little thing just oozing with personality!

The Clothing is all made from certified organic cotton, bamboo fiber, and a touch of spandex, so that
it will wash well and that it will last forever.

They also use water-based ink for printing, making sure that all products are lead free and safe.

My Thoughts:

I was lucky enough to be able to review 2 of Nohi Kids products. The Girls Dress, Peacock-Pink, as well as the Organic Romper – Pears.

We could not have been any happier with the two products.

Tollytots My First Disney Princess and HUGE PRIZE PACK Review and Giveaway #GiftGuide @Tollytots

This is a co-review by Samantha and Danielle. Danielle reviewed the Disney doll, and Samantha reviewed the toys she saw at Tollytot’s Playdate in the city, which some of you may remember from previous posts. Thank you, and please feel free to enter this fantastic giveaway 🙂

With an 8 month old and a 2 year old, I definitely need some tools under my sleeve to help them put themselves to sleep. Luckily, both of my girls are pretty good at putting themselves to sleep! Ava has just recently learned this skill, and I can definitely say that My first Disney Princess Lights & Lullaby Bedtime Baby Aurora has made Ava’s job much easier.

About Lights & Lullaby Bedtime Baby Aurora

Naptime is a dream with this Lights and Lullaby Bedtime Baby Aurora doll. Made for hugging, this charming 12-inch doll has a soft, snuggly body that will soothe and comfort your little sleepyhead with a gently glowing light and magical music. Choose normal mode for lights and music or night-light mode for a soft light that automatically turns off after three minutes.

Normal Mode: You push the tummy once to activate lights, again to activate music, again to turn lights and music off. The doll will automatically enter sleep mode once music has looped four times.

Night Light Mode: Push the doll’s tummy to activate soft light, (the light will not change colors in night light mode). The light will remain on for 5 minutes, then light will turn off and doll will enter sleep mode. If you want to turn light off sooner, press doll’s tummy once.

My Thoughts:

This is definitely the go to doll for your younger children. Both of my daughters were huge fans of it, but I did intend for this doll to be more for the baby than for my older daughter.

Ava & Ella both greatly enjoy playing with baby. Ella is always playing with a baby, so Ava is very happy to have her own baby to play with. She also has quickly become attached the baby and likes to drag her along wherever we might be going.

I love how we can pick and choose which mode we want. We use one mode at nap time and one mode at bedtime to help her to better know which time it really is.

I think that this would be a great doll for any young girl you have on your list, I’m sure that they would love [Read more…]

Top 5 Tips for Potty Training Success

You always want those baby-raising milestones to be as fun and effortless as they seem on your favorite mommy blogs, but there’s nothing particularly fun (and certainly not effortless) about potty training. It’s a complicated process that can take months or even years to come to fruition. There are stops and starts, tantrums and successes, battles and the occasional total breakdown. While all is in service to your little one taking another step forward in his growth and development (and of course ridding your life of diapers as quickly as possible), you must roll with the punches and not expect perfection. Yet there are ways to improve your chances of avoiding a trip to the mental health ward. Here are five of the top tips for potty training success.

pic4First of all, you must be consistent. Once the process begins you cannot give up, no matter how frustrating it has been. Create a timeline for trips to the bathroom and stick with it. Even if you are setting your child down on the training toilet every twenty minutes to ‘try’, consistency is key. You’ll have more failures than successes, but it will help your child develop an understanding of when he needs to go. And recognizing the need is just as important as a successful toilet trip.

You also cannot be afraid to tell some white lies. While your child’s toilet deposits aren’t actually feeding the fish or traveling to some magic fairy land where they transform into golden bricks used to build princess castles, there’s no harm in telling your child these things. Whatever gets them excited about the process is a positive, and you’re not a terrible mom for pulling the wool over their eyes, no more than when you share stories about the Tooth Fairy or Santa Claus. Some day they will go to the toilet on their own, but you have to do whatever is necessary to get them moving in the right direction.
