I normally make this chili with beef brisket but this time around I only had beef on hand. It comes out great each way but I do prefer the brisket over anything. Great for a busy day you can toss all this into a slow cooker and forget about it till it’s dinner time. Since I’m also a huge football fan, this is a must on Sundays!
Ingredients
6 tablespoon chili powder
4 garlic cloves minced
2 teaspoons celery seed
1 teaspoon ground pepper
1 fresh beef brisket (3lbs) or sub in ground beef, you’ll only need about 2lbs
1 green pepper chopped
1 onion chopped
1 bottle of your favorite chili sauce
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup barbeque sauce
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/ 4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon ground mustard
2 cans chili beans
2 cans great northern beans
Directions
Combine the first 4 ingredients and rub all over the brisket. Cut it up into pieces ad place into the slow cooker. Combine everything but the beans in the slow cooker for about 4 hours. Dump in the beans and cook for another 2-3 hours until the beans are cooked all the way through.
Yum – this looks SO good (and easy!). I’ve never made chili in a slow cooker before, but I will be giving this a try!
that looks really good
