ToughHound All Sports Dog Collar

Having a pet part of the family there are certain things you must keep in mind, one of them being what happens if they get lost? Animals of course can not speak for themselves, so you as the owner must do the next best thing and keep proper ID for each of your pets, you can find a great one at the dogbark collar store.

doggies

We have two Dogs, Baby and Spot. They are medium sized beagles who just love to run around and chase things. The male was a hunter so you can imagine he likes to get out in those woods and get down to nature. The only problem is, he likes to do is so much, he gets away from us too often. We end up going on a longer walk trying to hunt him down! He has been lost once, for a full day, even with a collar on his tag fell off, which left the person who found both dogs wondering who they belonged too. It was not pleasant to go through that, it isn’t fun for anyone at all. Their tags fall off all the time it seems and it’s a fear I have that we will end up not being able to find them for this very reason. This brings me to tell you about a wonderful ID collar that can help in this situation.

Top Mistakes Parents Make When Disciplining Children

Children need discipline in their formative years, and those who are disciplined properly will grow into fine young adults in the coming years. Those who are not met with the right kind of discipline, however, are more likely to cultivate bad habits and poor behavior that will follow them throughout their lives. Give your children the best head start they can get by recognizing the most common mistakes parents make when disciplining children, and avoid such mistakes yourself.

  1. Losing Your Temper
When you lose your temper with children, you lose control of the situation. If you’re not in control, then you can’t hope to discipline a child effectively. Children are extremely receptive to changes in mood. If you suddenly lose your cool, the level of energy in your interactions will escalate to critical levels. It is always important to stay calm and collected when dealing with children, and if you can avoid losing your temper you will dodge the most common disciplinary mistake made by parents everywhere.
  2. Failing to Be Consistent

Professor Iris- Adorable Kids Video

irisProfessor Iris is a new DVD brought to us from Canada. This show originally aired on TLC between 1992 and 1994. The show is about Professor Iris’s teachings to his students. His students are a plant, a piano, and a skeleton (of course). Each episode covers a specific topic- some of which are Fruit, Vegetables, and Seasons. Each episode is presented in the puppet medium which is fun. This has a definite Muppet feel to it, but a bit more along the lines of Wallace and Gromit, though educationally geared. The series in animated [Read more…]

Top 5 Tips for Flying With Toddlers

Do you remember the days before you were a parent and you got on a plane that had a toddler on it? As cute as the child may have been, the louder or more active they became, the more you found yourself counting down the minutes until you would be able to get off of the flight. Now you are the parent and you notice the eyes that are semi-glaring at you as soon as you enter onto the plane with your own little one in tow.

Flying with toddlersIf you would like some tips on how to fly with your toddler so that the flight can be as pleasant as possible for everyone involved, we’ve enclosed five of our top tips below:

Schedule the flight during their nap time. If you have a child who sticks to a pretty strict day schedule, you might want to consider taking a flight during their naptime. Sure, they may be a bit irritable on the way to the airport, but that’s better than having them scream the entire time while you’re on the plane. If their body is used to resting at a certain time, if they are comfortably seated, there’s a pretty good chance that they will still fall asleep (yes even on a plane).

Take advantage of the pre-boarding option. One [Read more…]

WIN- Thomas And Friends Wooden Railway 5 in 1 Up and Around Set

wooden tracksThomas the Train has been around for a while, and one of the most fun and original ways to play is with the wooden sets. These sets can be great fun especially on a big, clean, empty table or train table. Try telling that to my son, though, who wanted them opened immediately and played with right where he was. Kids. Setting up the track can be done in a plethora of ways and of course once the tracks are all set up playing with them with the trains are great fun too. Or, not setting up the tracks, and just pushing stuff around….whatever. He was quiet for nearly an hour. 🙂

Kia Soul- Review

Kia are making some great vehicles. The Kia Soul fits right in line with their stellar line up of quality vehicles on a budget. The Soul is a crossover car with enough space for 5 people to fit comfortably as well as a hatchback for storage. The Soul has good pickup and will let you zip around at a comfortable pace without using a lot of gas.

kiaThe Kia Soul gets an EPA estimated 25/30 mgp city/highway. This means it does quite well at sipping gas. There is an available ECO driving option that we kept on most of the time, which also helped out a lot without giving up too much in acceleration. Over the course of a week of driving around Orlando, FL, we only filled up before dropping the car off, which is phenomenal considering we were out and about pretty much all day and sometimes well into the night.

In regard to the sound system and [Read more…]
