When traveling, I try to bring as little as possible.  Shoes can be hard-  they take up so much space in your luggage, and I hate bringing more then a carry on with me (who wants to pay the airlines even more fees?  They already charge an arm and a leg for the privilege of annoying and molesting you and your baggage three or four times between each plane- why pay them more to do so?  Ha.)   Yes, we all know that while I love travel, I hate planes- and TSA even more.  Rude attitudes, taking things they are not supposed to, and dumping bags with no regard for people’s belongings will never help the airline industry or tourism, now will it?  Now that I’m done ranting about TSA, let’s talk about a more fun topic- Shoes!

Mexico and Products 034

I’ve done a few posts on travel and packing tips, and I always advise sticking with a color pattern or using metallic shoes (since they match everything) so that you can mix and match and bring less, while maximizing your wardrobe. I recently took a trip to Mexico, and brought with me only a pair of flip flops (necessary for beach and pool), sneakers (worn on the plane and for hiking and riding horses), and a pair of sandals that matched everything from Vionic.  I loved them because not only are they pretty, but the color allowed me to match them to everything in my suitcase, and they are ultra supportive, comfortable, and even carry the APMA Seal of Acceptance (so you know they are actually good for your feet).

What’s so great about Vionic shoes?

  •  innovative podiatrist-designed Orthaheel Technology provides superior orthotic support, relief and stability which helps realign the feet back to their natural position.
  • Research supports Orthaheel Technology’s success in reducing over-pronation, which can help relieve associated common aches and pains, such as heel pain (plantar fasciitis), knee pain and lower back pain (*info via website)

I wore these shoes to every function and dinner on that trip, so I can tell you for sure that they are comfortable.  At one point, I got tired at an evening event (dancing, and having cocktails) and walked back to the hotel, which was not as close as I had thought it would be.  That was the only point that I even felt the shoes- it was the second to last day of almost constant wear, and they started to rub on my pinkie toes.  We all know that shoes can wear on us over time, and that often we don’t know how they will feel until we wear them for a bit.  I do have to say these are among my most comfortable pairs of sandals, and ones I will continue to wear for travel and everyday use.

pic prana and vionicThe Martinique Toe Post Wedge  are great. I loved how easy to wear these shoes are.  Finding shoes that are not only pretty but comfortable is hard, and shoes that go with everything?  A great find.  I received quite a few compliments on these, and would for sure wear shoes from this brand again.  They were functional, fashionable, classic, and comfortable.  What’s not to love?
