The Only Cure for THE JUNGLE BOOK Movie is MORE COWBELL! #JungleBook

We just saw the new live action version of Disney’s “The Jung;e Book”.  My son loved the animated version, as well as Rudyard Kipling’s story.  As a huge animal lover, I knew he would love this one, and he certainly did.  It’s a little dark for the littlest viewers (there is some animal violence, nothing graphic at all) but some of the little peanuts got scared, so be warned.

My boy is 8, and I think he is a great age for this movie. My husband and I really enjoyed it as well, and I’m not a person to go nuts for children’s movies.  It was sweet, kept everyone’s attention, and was really, really well done. Not to mention the voices were fun- especially Christopher Walken as King Louie, haha.

Fun “Easter Egg” moment- Mowgli in the monkey temple.  Fans of SNL and Walken in general will get a kick out of this fun moment.

My son can’t wait to see it again, and has been raving about it to all his friends.  It’s a very different movie then the animated version you are used to and have seen, and I think you will like it.  I don’t want to give much away, but I recommend it highly. The Jungle Book opens this Friday, make sure to grab your tickets and head in.

Is Your Child in the Right Car Seat? #therightseat

Did you know that every 33 seconds a child under 13 is involved in a car crash in the United States? That probably isn’t the first thing you think about when you are hauling your kids to school, the grocery store, or anywhere else around town. And really, you shouldn’t have to worry about whether or not your child is safely snuggled into the right car seat every time you get in the car. Instead, make sure your child is in the right seat from the get-go.
Safety seats, if used correctly, can dramatically reduce the risk of fatality or injury. But over half of car seats are misused in a way that could reduce their effectiveness and 1 in 3 children killed in car crashes were completely unrestrained at the time of the crash. Just the thought of that is devastating. So why not select the right car seat from the start?

And just because you THINK you know you have the right car seat, think again. Wouldn’t it just be best to know, without a doubt, that your child is in the right seat?
Unfortunately, there are so many parents out there who are not educated on the ins and outs of car seat safety. It is so important that we get the word out and educate parents and caregivers about the importance of selecting the right seat for their child’s age and size, and to remind them that car seats, booster seats and seat belts offer the best protection for children in crashes and help save lives.

  • Find a car seat that fits your child. As children grow, how they fit in their car seat will change. Make sure the car seat you purchase is designed to fit your child’s current size and age.
  • Not all car seats fit in all vehicles so test the car seat you plan to buy to make sure it fits correctly in your vehicle.
  • Before installing your car seat in your vehicle and putting your child in the car seat, read the manufacturer’s instructions so you know how your car seat works.
  • All-in-One car seats offer you the advantage of using the same seat for the following positions: rear-facing, forward-facing with harness, then booster. These seats typically have higher height and weight limits for the rear-facing position, allowing you to keep your child rear-facing for a longer period of time.

Make it your priority to make sure your child or a child you love is safe when they are buckled in.

What better way to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Peanuts comic strip and the 50th anniversary of A Charlie Brown Christmas, then with a new Peanuts movie?  This movie was released on Nov 6, 2015 and is a wonderful entry in the Peanuts movie catalogue.

The Peanuts movie is a 3D computer animated film which follows the story of Charlie Brown and his perpetual bad luck- especially with females, in particular the Little Red Haired Girl.  Throughout the movie, Charlie Brown tries in vain to be the best and does anything to gain her attention from magic tricks to dancing and even academics.  But in the end, the Little Red Haired Girl sees Charlie Brown as the selfless, caring boy he is. Instead of silly attempts to gain her attention, all he had to do was be himself.

As the story of Charlie Brown progresses, there is of course a story of Snoopy and Woodstock as they go through their imaginary fighting of the Red Baron, and Snoopy’s own love interest, Fifi.  The two stories weave together nicely, bringing the whole crew of Peanuts characters into the mix nicely as well.  My son liked this movie very much, and has watched it more then a few times now.  The animation style was new and modern, while still keeping the same Peanuts feel we all know and love as well.

We had a great time watching the movie as a family, and we know you will love it as well.

We got this great mattress for the little guy.  He has always been a difficult sleeper ever since birth, and as such he needs all the help he can get.  At first, the height made him a bit leery (his last mattress was very low) but after laying down on the bed itself he was pleasantly surprised, and wanted to hit the hay right then and there.  The bed fully fluffed within a few hours and was the perfect fit for him.  He also enjoyed helping with the setup, as we can see.
