Did you know that Aristotle (384-322 BC) is often referred to as the father of marine biology?
Aristotle is the first to record observations on marine life, and identified a variety of species including
crustaceans, echinoderms, mollusks, and fish. However, until submarines were invented, it was almost
impossible to explore the deep ocean. Today, submarines are used by marine biologists to collect
samples, take videos and observe sea life in ways that humans would not be able to do! Marine
biologists are able to work at depths of several hundred meters for hours in these special submarines!

There is so much to discover under water. Just recently in December 2012, a giant, marine reptile that
roamed the seas around 150 million years ago was identified as a new species. The animal, now named
Pliosaurus funkei spanned about 40 feet, had a massive 6.5 foot long skull and a bite as powerful as a
Tyrannosaurus rex.

Build a strong relationship with your child’s pediatrician by following these helpful guidelines, and make parenthood the happiest time of your life.

Know When to Worry
Understand that pediatricians hold a unique place in the world. They are the people who receive endless phone calls from panicking parents whose children are, more often than not, perfectly healthy. If you have minor concerns about your child’s health, call during your pediatrician’s preferred phone-in times or send an email. Reserve your emergency phone calls for actual emergencies, and your child’s pediatrician is certain to be appreciative. It’s natural to be concerned for your child, but try to remain level-headed at the same time.
Be Specific About Symptoms
When you talk to your child’s doctor, be as specific and explicit as possible. General and vague descriptions are of no help to a doctor who is trying to diagnose your child. Keep track of symptoms and write them down if possible. Record fever temperatures. [Read more…]

The game comes with 101 Photo cards, six glasses, six clue cards, bingo chips and a spinner. Kohl’ s Cares newest campaign is up and running this spring with a $5 Dr. Seuss book as well as a Dr. Seuss plush. When purchasing keep in mind Kohl s donates 100% of its profits from these sales to children’s health and education initiatives across the country. The perfect combo of cute plush, good book and donation to a cause all make for a very rewarding purchase.

The current line up consists of:
